After being picked up at the airport via the hotels transfer service the young girl at reception carried our hand luggage while we dragged our 20kg cases across the road and up a couple of flights of stairs to our room. We are a mature couple so this was heavy going for us, once inside we were faced with a small kitchennette, a single bed with small TV and a table with 2 chairs, leading off that room was 2 single beds in a small room with a dressing table and wardrobe. The bedroom was very dark and dinghy with a small window looking into the room next door. We had a balcony which faced the hotel across the road which boasted of a swimming pool very tiny in size. Our side of the street was in the middle of the local neighboorhood so if you like barking dogs and loud voices you will enjoy the stay. the room was clean so no complaints there, the breakfast for 5euro each we declined, was bread and jams, there were no phones in the room and a notice on the office to contact the sister hotel 15 mins walk up the steep hill if no one was in attendance. As we jealously viewed much nicer villa's for 70-80 euro's a night, like the Golden Star, on our rest stop to catch our breath from the climb, we vowed if we ever came back to Santorini we would never stay here again.
