We reserved a double room with seaview, and were allocated one of the cave apartments which exits onto a shared terrace where the jacuzzi was located. The view from the terrace was stunning and the apartment was quite large, however due to the fact that it is a very long cave the only light that comes in, comes from the doorway, so we found the apartment quite dark and gloomy. Due to it being a cave, it also explains the slightly damp and mouldy smell towards the back end of the cave, where the bedroom and bathroom is located. The apartment looked a bit tired and though the kitchenette is well equipped, it looked very old with rusty stove plates and it had a bit of an ant problem. The location is very good, as it has amazing unobstructed views over the caldera and it is only about a 8 minute walk to the main strip in town (it is probably one of the last properties on the cliffside in the main part of Fira). There are also plenty of spots to eat in the vicinity and a well stocked supermarket is nearby if you want to do your own cooking. There was only one person manning the place and he was not available all the time, so in terms of help or guidance there was not much support, however they did offer free transfers to the port / airport which was quite a money saver (you just need to arrange this with them in advance).

Nonis Apartments provided a central location from which to explore Fira, while at the same time, offering a wonderful view of the volcano, caldera, Aspronisi, and Thirasia. The balcony offers a shared jacuzzi, comfortable deck chairs and 180 degrees of stunning views. The most charming view from the deck is that in the early mornings and late evenings the donkeys tinkle past on their way to the port. The inside of the apartment is clean, comfortable and very spacious for a cave house. The bathroom is particularly large and comfortable.

We stayed 3 night at NoNis in the beginning of June. It was just so nice, we enjoyed the amazing view from the terasse, where you can drink some wine, or you go to the pool or jacuzzi if you prefer. Price are lower than in the right center of thira. ( hotel with caldera view). I highly recommend this hotel.

WE LOVED SANTORINI, and I would recommend this hotel to those looking for a fantastic location and amazing views on a budget.

Nonis is super well located, about a two minute walk from the heart of the tourist center of Fira and right on the edge of the caldera. One of our favorite things to do in Santorini was to return to the hotel in the evening and sit on the shared terrace watching the sunset over the water and the volcano while drinking a glass of wine (compliments of the very helpful and friendly Boris, thank you!) and eating a piece of baklava from a little bakery down the street. We'd then walk down the one flight of stairs to the hot tub to relax there, again, overlooking the water. The shared terrace was right outside our hotel room door.

The room itself was OK. It was large. We had a sitting room, a small kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. It wasn't a bad room, but it wasn't super nice either. It was about what you'd expect for the price -- which I found to be a bargain given the location and fantastic views from the terrace. Though it was a shared terrace, there were usually never more than two or three people sitting there at once, so it still felt nicely isolated. Our room was advertised as sea view, though I should warn others we could only see the sea from a window in the sitting room, not from the bedroom. But that didn't really matter to me since we could admire the fantastic views by walking out the front door. Also, if you ask ahead of time, the hotel will pick you up at the port or airport.

And, by the way, try Ellis Restaurant just around the corner from Nonis -- it was our favorite, and again, the views ....
