We booked this hotel 5 months before our travel dates and paid the 10% deposit. We emailed them on the contact given on their website about booking transfers from the airoirt on the day of arrival. We recieved no reply so emailed again 2 weeks late and still no reply. When we arrived in Greece we rang them 3 times and no one answered the phone at any time. Sure enough when we got to the airport there was no one waiting for us so we booked last minute accomodation elsewhere, and were very glad we did so once we drove past Villa Odyssey, it didn't look very exciting at all.

We stayed here for 4 nights after booking the hotel on Hostelbookers for around 30 euros per night. If you are arriving from the port, take the bus towards Fira and get off at the Karterados stop. From the bus stop, it is a 2 minute walk.

We were quite disappointed when we arrived, as the pool was empty! Maria, the owner, told us that there were some problems with the pool and it would be filled within a few days. Until then, we were able to use the pool at Artemis Village (about 15 mins drive away).

The room was very clean and quite spacious, with a small balcony. We requested a room at the back of the hotel, as it is located on a busy road. The room was quiet at night. The room contained a fridge, TV and a desk. The bed was comfortable, but on the hard side. The pool was small, but nice. It is shaded in the afternoon, so head out there early. There is plenty of parking at the rear of the hotel.

Karterados is located about 15 mins walk outside of Fira. There are a few cafes and bakeries around the hotel, but not much nightlife. We hired a quad bike to get around.
This is not a bad hotel if you can get a good price.

My husband and I stayed at Villa Odyssey in July for our friends wedding. There was a group of 35 of us and it was amazing. Maria did everything she could to ensure our stay was fantastic and memorable. The hospitality and friendliness was incredible. The rooms were lovely with a large balcony. The pool was fantastic as it gets hot! The location was not right in Thira but was very close so you had the option to walk into the main area of town or rent ATV's which were awesome. The area the hotel is in is lovely and has everything you need in terms of groceries, restaurants and services. We really enjoyed our stay there and would go back.

Just returned from a short trip to Santorini and stayed in Karterados at the Hotel Villa Odyssey. It is actually between Fira and Karterados in a very convenient location, near restaurants, bus stop, stores and easy walk to Fira. The hotel itself is a little older but beautifully maintained and very clean and furnished with pleasant antique-style furniture with comfortable beds, plenty of hot water, refrigerator and very quiet. We had a room with a balcony that had a small table and chairs and we spent most of our time here, including eating several meals that we put together from the grocery store. You could get a glimpse of the sea and it was overlooking the pool. Maria, our hostess, was very helpful and friendly, insisting on making coffee for us even though the hotel has no food service and calling to confirm the bus schedule for us.

We walked all around Karterados, following paved foot paths through neighborhoods and thoroughly enjoyed being able to get away from the hustle and bustle of Fira.

I can highly recommend this hotel -- it was very reasonable with an off-season rate of about $50 a night for the two of us.
