“Perfection on amazing Santorini”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2010

Santorini was the highlight of our European holiday and this is due to the stand out of our accommodation at the Asteras villas. The view was to die for, picture postcard perfect and the villa was situated in the centre of Thira only a few minutes to walk to shopping, restuarants and the bus station. Originally we had looked at so many different options but were so happy that we choose Asteras Villas. We stayed in lowest level
superior suite , and yes there were many steep steps but it was definately worth the climb up and down. although not recommended for the elderly.
The suite was very spacious and unique to the island with the main bedroom in a cave room. It was prettily decorated, very comforable, and very clean with housekeeping every day. It had a double bed, which unfortunately had saggy springs, and 3 good large single beds. The small kitchen had everything you needed and outside you had your own large balcony where you could enjoy amazing sunsets.
Lia had been very helpful when we emailled with questions and Eri who manned the office was very obliging. Our taxi from the airport was organised and Eri met us and took us to Asteras Villas and even carried our heavy suitcase to our doorstep. He was very helpfull with information and advice on the island, restuarants and quad bike hire.Again when we left he organised verything for us.
We highly recommend Asteras Villas and hope to have the opportunity to stay there again.

“Amazing Two Weeks!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2010

My wife and I stayed for two weeks at the Asteras Villas. While the hotel isn't 5-star, we were *very* impressed with the accommodations.

Firstly, booking was a breeze. We emailed the hotel, was given a rate (discounted for the length of stay) and left our CC number. That was it. The hotel arranged a pickup from the Airport ($) which drove us to the hotel. One thing to note - the hotel isn't located on a driveable street - so you will need to lug your bags to the hotel.

Which brings up an important point. This hotel has amazing views of the Caldera... but be warned, the stairs are *very* steep. Costas (the manager) did assist us with our bags, and showed us our room - but you will need extra care at night, or if you have mobility issues.

The views were spectacular. If you are looking for the Caldera view - this is your hotel. The hotel was well maintained, and very clean. We *do* think that the fixtures (especially the bathroom) are badly dated and in need of updating / modernization.

The only wish we had would be if the hotel had a pool.

Overall, we had a great stay and would easily return in the future - just please update your bathrooms!

“ASTERAS VILLAS - PERFECT CHOICE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2009

We recently spent 5 nights at the Asteras Villas. We stayed in Apartment 1 which was at the top of the cliff. 1 Queen bedroom and 2 single beds in lounge/kitchen area. Villa was clean, comfortable, but simple. It had everything you need. And the bathroom was very clean and modern. Enough kitchen facilities - you are not here to cook! Rooms were serviced every day. Entry to Asteras Villas is at the top of the cliffs and right in the heart of Fira for shopping and restaurants. Be prepared for steps everywhere you go. Including getting down to the apartments. They are steep and plentiful. Appt 1 at the top was a good choice. Only about 30 steps to tackle. The host was also helpful and gave us plenty of info on arrival. Santorini is not to be missed. You are not here for the rooms, you are here for the views. They are spectacular. It is just like the postcards. I would highly recommend Asteras Villas.

“What a view!”

Stayed there with my wife for a week, its one of best possible locations in Santorini. Spectacular views, comfortable rooms, very very central (its about 20 meters below of where everyone goes to take a picture of the Caldera). Sotiris the Manager is an excellent proffessional and very helpful as a person.

“Get your repelling equipment ready!”

We stayed there two days ago. Booked the room through Booking.com
Paid €150 which seemed reasonable for a Caldera View Room. We should have paid a bit more and stayed in a more comfortable place easily reached with a taxi.
We took the local bus from the port. Then walked to Asteras Villas. Had no difficulty finding it as all shop owners who were smoking outside their shops pointed us to them.
When we arrived I HAD NO IDEA we would be staying in studio number 4 which is at the bottom of over 100 steep steps! I am not old, I have no health problems, I am in decent shape but It was tough. It was tougher the following morning lugging our suitcases at 5:30 am! The sunset was nice from our room but after one month in greece we had seen sunsets that were just as nice. The lindos sunset is beautiful.
