Booked a Phoebe suite but was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the Venus Suite. Being 2-3 floors further up, the view from the balcony was absolutely stunning. We stayed for 4 days and each evening, we tried to catch the sunset from various points in Fira and Oia. After all that, the best sunset was the one we caught from the balcony outside our room, where the sun sank into the horizon -just- above silhouette of Nea Kameni.
The rooms were clean, and the decor was very well done. I loved the designer touch such as Grohe rain shower and the glass mosiac floor tiles in the shower cubicle. There was also an ipod dock music player, which I used to charge my iPhone every night, and a laptop provided.
Some details were nice in principle, but didn't work out so well during winter when we were there. Having a heated jacuzzi just outside the room, overlooking the caldera, sounds really luxurious, but the thought of stripping to my swimsuit in the 10 degree celsius weather discouraged me from that.
They don't have a common eating area for breakfast, so it is served to us in our balcony. We had to wear multiple layers of warm clothing, with gloves, and sit out in the cold, shivering our butts off, just to eat our rapidly cooling breakfast. Maybe it would be better in the summer.
Nonewithstanding all that, I would still rate it as an absolutely fantastic place to stay.
