“Best place of Santorini to relax your mind”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 April 2011

It is a very familiar place to stay and quiet.
You should take a rental car, to see all the great places on Santorini.
Also you will need this, to go to the beach.
At last a perfect place to make your holiday!!!

Room Tip: All the rooms have the same fiew to the garden.

“special place, special atmosphere, special friends”

On the very gorgious island of santorini with its spectacular landscape the villa Ecoxenia is a place to have a lot of relaxation and a good point for starting your sightseeing tours as well. Very quiet, but just 1 km from the town of Oia wiith the famous sunset (same quality of sunset from your ecoxenia apartement!) Near Ecoxenia in the north of Santorini there begins a beach of five km lengh until the famous rock of cap Colombo, not crowded, you find always a place to be on your own. Best idea ist to rent a car, or you use Ecoxenias bycicles! On the beach there are some nice simple tavernas, special tip: visit the vinery of Sigalas! Our friend Christophorus, owner of Ecoxenia or the members of his nice family will show you the way and give you a taste of volcano wine.

“An okay place but out of the way.”

The first thing you should know is the hotel is a 20 min walk uphill to the town of Oia. There is a bus stop at the corner of the hotel's road but there is no reliable schedule of when the bus will be there. We arranged, through the hotel, for a taxi to pick us up at the ferry at the cost of 25 Euro. The same driver took us to the airport at the end of our stay for same charge. The young lady that manages the hotel was very helpful and went out of her way to arrange a volcano tour and even drove us to the pickup point. She offered to run us into town if we needed but we walked. We were greeted with wine and a treat, maps and suggestions of what to do while on the island. We were in an upstairs room with a nice view of the ocean from our balcony and the town of Oia from the "balcony" area in front of the entrance to our room. The Studio is a nice size with a large bathroom. There is a small kitchen with two burners, small refrig., table & chairs. The beds were firm but there was only a twin bed and a 3/4 bed in the room. There was wifi access in the garden area. There is a small hot tub in the garden but we were the first visitors of the season and the hot tub had not been opened yet. To be honest we would probably choose to stay in the town of Oia if we visited again but only because of the location of the Ecoxenia. If it were located in the town we would stay there again.

“Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2008

I simply do not know the other place with such positive vibrationes than this one. "Paradise" was first thought when I come here 12 years ago, and this is my 7th visit!! It can be noticed on every possible tiny detail, that this place was built with unlimited love. And I am still discovering details. Last year I came here with two kids (14 & 16) with a little fear how they will sense calmness and peace. Now, they do not to go anywhere alse :-) Huge recommendation to any person looking for real holiday!

“Know what you're getting”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2008

Was not at all what I expected. Hotel is off the beatten path and the rooms are very small and hard to get around. tiny stove with 1 pot and it is exactly what it says "Eco" as in Economical. Their prices are good but if you are expecting a nice hotel room with constant service this isn't the place to stay. You will drag lugguage up the stairs, the towels are air dried so they are hard, and the staff is a little different. Fine for l or maybe 2 people but no more. I would not stay here again. I am a picky person so this isn't at all a good fit for me but if you aren't picky it can be a good choice especially if you are saving money. Just realize that the photo's are 10 times better than the place.

  • Liked — can't think of any
  • Disliked — look of the place and creepy staff

Maybe our hotel was not what you expected, but let's see why.
The hotel is situated just 1Km away from the famous village of Oia above the sea shore (100m from the coast). So appeal to people who want peace and quiet, natural environment while not far from the famous village of Oia, which is very beautiful but very - very busy also.
Our 2 person’s rooms are 23m2 with sea view big balconies (17 m2), fully equipped with kitchenette, inside and outside furniture (each room comprises: 2 tables – 6 chairs – 2 chaise-longs – 1 sun bed – 1 big umbrella) and is well designed for your comfort.
EcoXenia means Ecological house for foreigners (Xenos) so the towels are sunny and air dry for ecological reasons (save electricity). Also we use ecological products against the hardness of fabrics.
Concerning the staff it is not at all ¨creepy¨ as you said. It is multilingual and very helpful. You can just have a look to comments from other customers about our staff.
If at that time were busy and you carrying your luggage up the stairs, we apologize but this is not the norm.
About the photos the only thing that I want to say is that they are 100% real without any Photoshop infection and there are many (30 in our web site) so everybody can have a complete idea about Ecoxenia Studios.
We are very sorry if, as picky person, we are not satisfied your expectations for your stay but we completely cover the expectations of many other people, also picky persons, but on a different way.
