“Fabulous hotel in every way”

When my friend and I arrived at the Anemoessa for a week's holiday in June 2011 at first we were disappointed that it was not on the cliff side of Santorini facing the Caldera. After one day we were so glad that it was on the flatter side of the island without the hundreds of stairs and glaring white cement of the Caldera side which we saw daily on our travels. Our views were spectacular - including sunsets from our patio. It was much cooler, quieter and more historic. Our hostess Irenia was so sweet and helpful. She helped us book a boat trip on a beautiful catamaran and and gave us all sorts of tips regarding local places of interest. The highlight of our stay was having our fabulous breakfast delivered to our room (or poolside) every morning. Even though we had a small kitchen we also ordered lunch poolside a few times.as the food was so fresh and reasonably priced. Oia really is THE place to stay on Santorini - much nicer than Faro with its cruise ship business. Faro is only a short bus or car ride away but we couldn't wait to get home to Oia. Beware though - the shopping is so wonderful that you may need to buy another suitcase.

Room Tip: I think all suites face the ocean. Ours was on the ground floor and easy access to the pool, office...

“Wonderful Honeymoon!”

My wife and I spent the first part of our European honeymoon in Santorini at the Villa Anemoessa and we loved it. We stayed mid-October 2011 and though it was a bit cold and windy...our 2-story Apartment (with the bed in the second floor loft) was very cozy. It was both of our first times in Santorini, and since it was off season, we elected to rent a car and tried to find the hotel after a very long travel day from Chicago. After being assured by the rental guy at the airport that it was easy to find ("Just look for Santorini Mou and turn right") we set off. In retrospect, should have read the last mail Irini sent because we got very lost in Oia. Look for the Windmill replica that said Oia Suites as you first reach Oia and turn right is what she said. (much better directions since there are no street signs and Santorini Mou's sign is only visible heading out of town. Hotel is kinda far from town, which wasn't a big deal with the car, but close enough for a long walk. Irini was an awesome guide and breakfast was truly a highlight...I'm still craving the yogurt, cookies and ham panini. View was of sea, not caldera but not a big deal...still gorgeous. We were lazy a few evenings and ordered room service dinner and it was delicious, even though a limited menu.

Room Tip: Ask Irini...she talked me out of the most expensive room, instead saying the 2 floor apartment would...

“"We cannot stop talking about Villa Anemoessa"”

My husband and I stayed at Villa Anemoessa for 5 nights in July 2011 (apologies for the late review). The hotel was spotless, our room was very clean. We loved lounging around the pool, looking out the beautiful view. Breakfast was really good, we could have it delivered to our balcony or by the pool. We rented a car for one day, Irini was really kind and made the booking for us. Thanks Irini, your help and direction was what we needed to make the most out of the six days in the island. Also thanks to your Dad, Mum and Aunty who made us feel so welcomed. We will be back.

“Fabulous!”

My husband and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary at the Villa Anemoessa and totally loved it. This hotel is run by a fantastic family that really goes the extra mile. At the same time, it feels small and exclusive without feeling snobby. Our room was in great condition, comfortable beds, beautiful view and was private. The pool was great and had lots of seating.

The night we arrived we were hungry and Irini (our hostess) directed us down a small village road to a near by family run restaurant. We sat out under the stars enjoying some of the most incredible food. If Irini hadn't told us this place was a restaurant though we would have walked right on by as it looks like someone's personal home from the outside.

The location of the hotel is great. It was an easy 10 minutes stroll into Oia.

I highly recommend staying at the Villa Anemoessa.

“It was fabulous!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

We echo pretty much every review here - we decided on Villa Anemoessa thanks to them, and don't regret it! Stayed here in August (apologies for the late review) and everything was great. The location is just so, so peaceful. The view is beautiful, the room was great, the breakfast, delivered to our balcony every day, was lovely. Irini is a treasure, as are her hand drawn maps. Santorini is a place you could easily spend a large fortune, but not have as nice a stay as we did. We'll be back!!
