“A beautiful and friendly place to stay”

Arriving at Atlantida Villas took my breath away. Perched on the hills of Oia, the view is spectacular. We settled right into our loft villa, which was simple, but very clean and comfortable - and again, the view!!!

Even better than the beauty was the amazing service. Atlantida is family owned & operated and they truly make you feel welcome. We arrived early and they invited us to lounge by the pool while they got our room ready. They gave us terrific restaurant and beach suggestions and even stored our things for us after our check-out because we caught a late-night ferry.

Overall, this is a great place to stay. The price is very reasonable and certainly worth every penny. My husband and I hope to return some day!

“Wonderful villas with the most amazing view and incredible service”

This place far exceeded my expectations. The rooms were much larger than anticipated with a little balcony and an amazing view (although shrubs needed a little pruning). What made this place truly special though was the service from all the staff particularly Georgas. Nothing was too much trouble. We were shuttled into Oia when we asked and also to the local beach, a great experience (if van not busy with pick ups). Breakfast was just beautiful with more food than we could ever eat, although we tried our hardest, and the yogurt and honey is to die for! The walk into Oia was no trouble at all and after the breakfast excercise was welcomed. Taverna Mou across the road is also fantastic and so convenient. This place was the last stop of a two month trip and it was certainly the icing on the cake.

“Gorgeous view and lovely service, but needs a bit of an update”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2010

We stayed at the Atlantida Villas for several nights in the middle of September 2010.
Our balcony view was amazing. Absolutely stunning - and we could see the sunset from the side of our villa's balcony easily (some people have said there is no sunset view?). Just a memo - Caldera view doesnt mean sunset view - the sun set from Oia's furthest point. But I would take Caldera view over sunset view any day anyway, because you can always walk down and see the sunset.

Anyway! The service at Atlantida was great too - we were even provided with a whole room, free of charge, at the end of our last day to shower/change after the beach before our flight - really above and beyond service, which was fantastic.

The problem with Atlantida is that, I feel they know they can get guests regardless of their accommodations, because they have such an unbelievable view of the caldera from their rooms. The rooms were really, really tired - furnishings were hastily "renovated" with fresh coats of paint - the bathrooms are old, the beds are pretty hard (but not so uncomfortable you cant sleep, mind you)..... I understand that full renovations takes a lot of money - but would getting a handyman to fix small but really irritating things, like our shower head that had no holding mechanism on the wall, meaning you had to hold the shower head up while you showered, or the door locks that were really old and jammed constantly - be so expensive? Probably not, and truly, for the price you pay I would at least expect a shower head that sits on the wall!

If you want a caldera view Atlantida Villas is probably a good choice considering we couldnt find a place to stay that had caldera view and wasn't a zillion dollars a night - mainly because most of the others are right in the village of Oia (Atlantida sits a bit outside, but not too far - walking distance for sure, and we hired ATV's during our stay which made it easy). But if we return we will be opting for a hotel without caldera view, considering you can see the caldera constantly from Oia, and practically any restaurant there!

“Nice People-Nice Place”

We booked the villas over the internet through a third party and we were a little nervous. Georgios the owner contacted me assuring me all was ok etc. He arranged someone at the airport to pick us up. Room was ready for a family of five. Filled our requests if possible etc. Villas are simple but clean and worth the value. Georgios, his mother, and everyone were all very nice. Would go back and stay there.

“Absolutely fabulous hotel in a quiet location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2010

Do not stay here if you want sunset views or to be near the city centre. We wanted traditional accommodation, view of the caldera, quiet location for one nght only (as it's not the cheapest place to stay but you have to do it don't you?!) and were not disappointed.

I found the hotel more than comfortable. The views from everywhere were stunning. The owner was friendly and helpful whenever needed. No wifi but they have computers in reception. No pool bar but rooms had fridges and there's a wine shop and deli a short walk away.

We spent the whole time by the pool. There's a really good restaurant right across the road, not sure if the hotel has one. The breakfast was great; yogurt and honey and fruit, toast, ham and cheese, cornflakes, coffee and juices and eggs.
