“great place to stay - just one issue”

First of all, this was a great place to stay if you are visiting Boavista. In fact, given the alternatives, this is probably the best place to stay in Boavista. Not only is it a beautiful guesthouse, the room was great (if you dont mind some background noise during the day, some rooms are above the kitchen and the bar, but they close around 10 pm, and this is not a crowded place anyway -and who wants to be in the room during the day anyway?). So, all in all great place. But the manager, who sure did a good job at making sure things worked, was not very helpful when in giving suggestions and just chit-chating a bit with the guests to be honest. I am afraid I disagree with what was said here before - or maybe he was just having a bad week. Besides this, I do suggest everyone to rent a quad and ask for advice on routes, and just go explore it yourself. You can go around the island, but can get to some pretty amazing beaches without any problems. there were lots of restaurants serving lovely seafood, some local, some italian. And if you want to hang out at one of the beach bars at Estoril Beach - Bahia was the best one, 5 euros for a shade (including chairs) all day - at one of the others it was 8 euro per chair... and the food was really good, and the staff was nice. good travels.

“Ideal for individual travelers”

It's a nice small hotel in colonial style with rooms and suites which are beautiful equipped.
If you prefer to stay in an appartment so ask for it. You can have one which is located very central, 2 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, nice living room with kitchen and a tremendous terrasse above the central park. Well, of course you have to climb up to the 4th floor, but living in middle of the village it's worthwhile. Every second day service people look after your appartment and you also get your daily breakfast at the Guesthouse. You will be picked up at the airport and people of Migrante Guesthouse are very friendly.

“Just Perfect!”

We have just returned from a 2 week stay in Cape Verde of which 1 week was spent in Boa Vista staying at the Migrante Guesthouse. This has to be the most beautiful place to stay in Sal Rei and possibly even on the entire island. The rooms are full of character, warming and a delight to return to after a long day at the beach! The manager, Maximo, is a wonderful man! Nothing is an effort for him to arrange, from a scrumptious meal in house to a tour around the Island. We did the tour of the north part of the island, with their driver Alceide, who although we were unable to fully communicate with,( due to the fact we had a very poor understanding of portuguese/Italian/Spanish and our phrase book really only helped if you wanted 10 beers!) made the trip amazing! I hope we can return again, not only to meet them again but also to see all the Islands.

We spent three night here, and this guetshouse was just perfect....
A quiet and peaceful place where you can relax on Boa Vista.
The room are really nicely decorated and breakfast is great also.
Massimo was a great help for organising excursions.
It is an adress that we would definitely recommend.

“Great Guesthouse”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 June 2007

We have just come back from a two week holiday in Cape Verde which included a 5 night stay at the Migrante Guest House. The house has been very tastefully refurbished in the old portuguese colonial style and is very comfortable and welcoming. There are only four rooms all set on the first floor and leading from an open air communal patio area - the rooms are very pleasing, the whole atmosphere is of staying in someone's home with a lovely personal touch. Sal Rei itself is very quiet and not much to do but the Migrante have a vehicle and driver which you can hire for island trips and we highly recommend doing this. We went to some fantastic isloated beaches only accessible with a 4x4 by somebody who knows where they are going! Also worth walking round to Estoril Beach to Bahia de Estoril beach bar where you can hire sun loungers (50% discount for Migrante guests), enjoy lunch and watch the kite surfers.

  • Liked — Personal and friendly
  • Disliked — Poor sunbathing opportunity
