On a wondeful beach on the edge of the tropical town of Kribi Ilomba Hotel confirmed today all our expectations.
Very well managed by the Swiss owners it guarantees simple but very clean and nice rooms, a strong attention to any details, a wonderful restaurant, a nice beach bar and a pleasant BBQ.
It is syrely one of the niciest beach resort not only in Cameroon with a genuine atmosphere that has been lost in many Caribbean resorts. And a lot of nice places around, inside of a magnificent rain forest. The only pity is that the sea water is not clear. But the paradise is in any case, so close, also at very honest rate.

grandparents, parents, 2 1/2 year old child stayed here. It was a wonderful, relaxing break away from the normal routine of Yaounde. We ate the salads, and had no ill effects. Food was good. Beach is right there, but it is a little dangerous and you couldn't have children playing alone. The Swiss woman who runs it makes sure everything is done well. The bar food was very slow in coming and it seemed as if they could have used one or two more workers. Rooms were nice with air conditioning, mosquito nets, nice bathroom with shower and hot water. Lots of little nice touches. Ten minute walk to the waterfall that flows into the ocean. Friends took a canoe trip up the river and liked it very much. Good mix of Africans and Europeans.

Cool Hotel. Nice beach and close to the waterfalls of Lobe. Service is also good as well as the kitchen. A little bit out of town. For Cameroon quite expensive.

Whenever you travel to Kribi to enjoy the great beaches and waterfalls, go to Hotel Ilomba.
The Manager was born in switzerland and after going to school in Kamerun, she went through a hotel - training apprenticeship in Switzerland and you can see the results of that training in every little spot of the hotel - the nice round houses are devided into two halfs that each form a spacious room and bathroom.
Geckos running over the place (outside) keep away the mosquitos.
The restaurant and the breakfast are fine and the bar overlooking the beach is also recommended. There, you can borrow books in English, German and French or play boules, pool or chess.
The hotel also has some holiday-appartments to rent. One even overlooks the waterfalls.

We were a group of 8 Europeans (one born in Cameroon) and spent 3 nights at Ilomba.
We paid 25.000 CFA for a room, breakfast included.The hotel is the place to relax after stressful days in Yaoundé or Douala. We will surely come back.
