“Great tapas and drinks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Even though at first this tapas restaurant seemed a little out of place in the sleepy mountain town of North Creek, but in fact it's a great addition to the other, mostly standard-fare restaurants. The tapas were excellent, fairly well-priced, and the selection of craft beers and wines was terrific. The place had a wonderful atmosphere and seemed to attract locals as well as tourists.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening here!!

“PHENOMENAL -- WENT TWO DAYS IN A ROW!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

My husband and I were surprised to find this amazing (and reasonable!) gem of a tapas bar in the quaint town of North Creek. Since we were hungry when we arrived in town mid-afternoon on 12/31/11, we stopped in to hook up with friends/grab something to eat/drink since our dinner reservation at another restaurant wasn't until 8PM (yes -- we ate again!). While we were disappointed that we had to wait until 5PM to order food, it was well worth the wait and we were happy to indulge in the fabulous selection of 100 wines and 30 beers. The co-owner, Mike, was so friendly and knowledgeable -- and gladly steered us around the menu. The food was delicious. We tried the coconut fried shrimp, Thai style beef skewers (yummy!), curried chickpea fritters and mussels with green curry, lime and cilantro (to die for!). We loved the place so much that we went back the next night for seconds! While we ordered some of the same dishes, we also tried the abbey ale/spinach/bacon mussels (good, but we liked the curry ones better -- make sure you save the sauce to dip your bread in!), olives, frites, gnocchi, antipasto and beef brisket sandwich. This is a great place to go with a group so you can try a bunch of different small bites. The salads and top sirloin steak looked great too -- something you should order if you don't want to share. Don't miss the adjacent wine store. Many thanks and best wishes for much success to Mike, Jeremy, Patrick and, of course, the phenomenal chef and rest of the wonderful staff!

“Awesome Meal. Amazing menu. 5-stars.”

The service was outstanding. The menu was exceptional. We had an order of curry mussels - Wow! Cooked perfectly, and the remaining broth was like a bowl of cury soup from Thailand. We asked for bread so that we could soak up the broth and enjoy it. We also shared a cheeseburger, a Gourmet burger.

It was so good. Great wine list. The owner was buzzing around and chatted us up for a while. And they have free high-speed wi-fi, so I could use my phone to catch up on a few things..

“One the Adirondack's Gems”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

Finally made my way just a mile from my house to Bar Vino and I am glad that this gem of the Adirondacks is right in my back yard. The gnocchi was in a creamy sauce with garlic and bacon. So light and perfectly cooked. We had the fried shrimp with a preserved lemon beurre blanc. Perfect tapas to have before our large plate of a top sirloin in a shallot laced wine reduction with pomme frites sprinkled with sea salt and white truffle oil. We are talking about a bonified righteous meal that is simply a rarity in the Adirondacks. Simply a GEM!!!

We went to this place one night when on our getaway trip and it was amazing. The Service was great and the prices were amazing for the quality of food. We are from the city and plates like this are worth double when they charge. I can't stop thinking about the delicious mussels!!!!
