“Standard Hampton Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2012 NEW

This is a pretty standard Hampton Inn, nothing really special about it. We wanted to stay one night on the NY side during our visit to the Niagara Falls area. Not much to do overall on the US side. We were greeted warmly and checked in quickly. The kids were directed to the breakfast area were they offered free Popcorn and Sno-Cones. A welcome bonus after the long drive. Our room was clean. Noise over night was minimal. Parking is in a gated lot - well lit. Hotel is local to Daredevil Museum, theater and Casino. A short drive to Niagara State Park and the Rainbow bridge over to CA.

Breakfast area was being refinished while we were there. It did not defer from the enjoyment of having a standard Hampton Inn family breakfast.

Pool area was clean and kids enjoyed an hour or so in the Hot tub and Pool. Requested Pillows from the staff and they arrived quickly to our room.

Overall our stay was uneventful which is what I expect at every Hampton Inn!!

“Hotel & Rooms Smell”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 May 2012

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU HAVE ANY BREATHING PROBLEMS - OR - IF YOU ARE AT ALL SENSITIVE TO STRONG ODORS. Attempted to stay one night on May 15, 2012. Arrived around 2:00pm was greeted as a gold member then given my room key. Immediately went to the room which was clean but had an extremely strong fragrance much like incense (very overwhelming). Returned to the desk and requested another room, next room had the same strong smell. Returned to the desk and requested another room (2nd attempt); clerk suggested that I wait to check in so that he could have a someone clean a room without using a fabric freshener... Waited till about 3:30 to check in; was given my room key, went to the room - room had little fragrance but not too bad so I turned on the AC fan and the bath vent fan then left the room for about 5 hours. Upon returning, the room smelled so strong with fragrance that it was breath taking (LITERALLY) - perhaps housekeeping sprayed the AC vent with freshener? I showered then dampened a washcloth to put over my nose; hoping to be able to get through the night. No such luck! After 2 hours of smelling the strong fragrance I became so ill that it was necessary that I leave the hotel (this was at 11:00pm). Buffalo has plenty of nice hotels at a much more reasonable price that are not far from Niagara Falls and is well worth the short drive to see the sights.

Room Tip: Find another hotel.

“Close to the Casino...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 May 2012

We had been use to staying at the Senceca Hotel but this year tried the Hampton instead. Check- in was a quick process, coffee/tea/hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Our room was quite clean and a fair size. We didn't have any noise issues overnight and breakfast was included in the morning. It consisted of cereals, bagels, waffles, yogurt, eggs and sausage. Plus other stuff so it's more then adequate. The only issue here is seating is at a premium as everyone rushes to the 11am check-out time. All in all a pretty good hotel with a 5-10min walk into the Casino doors which is why we were there.

“Homey hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 May 2012

Large rooms, clean, warm even if outside was freezing, free wi-fi in the rooms, helpful staff (could provide information about the Niagara falls attractions and their timetables), breakfast is included and has quite a large choice of food for a 3 star hotel.
Downsides:The eating area looks like a cafeteria. Distance from Niagara falls - 10 minutes walk.

“Simple, clean, comfortable....what else do you want?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 May 2012

This was a great option for a night in Niagara Falls while we were in the area for a dance competition in Grand Island.

The rooms are updated and clean, the bed linens are the fresh newer style where even the comforters are washed between guests.

Breakfast is convenient and sufficient. There was also coffee available throughout the day which was a nice "perk."

Free parking and WiFi and a posturepedic comfortable office chair if you need to get work done while you are there.

The only fault we found was that the walls were very thin and we could hear our neighbors even if they were not being unreasonable loud. I my experience this is quite common in Niagara Falls hotels.....not quite sure why but if you are a light sleeper I would suggest bringing ear plugs just in case.

Service is also pleasant and professional. All in all, a good clean and comfortable place to stay.
