“Very run down and cheap...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2010

My family and I decided to go to Buffalo to do some cheap outlet shopping. We decided to stay over for one night so that we can shop more. We decided to stay at the Red Carpet Inn and after reading previous reviews, I am slightly indifferent. The Red Carpet Inn is very old and run down, but other nearby inns and motels looked the same. Therefore this vicinity had limited hotel/motel/inn choices. The room had two double beds, a washroom, a table with chairs, mini fridge and microwave. The overall decor was outdated and I never took off my shoes once. The red carpet looked dirty and disgusting. The washroom was mediocre and the shower needed more cleaning. I was disappointed with the rate of $79 American considering the accommodation this hotel offered. The only highlight was the closeness this inn was to the nearby outlets and shopping. I only recommend this place for people who need to stay for one night for solo or group travelers. I would not recommend this place to anyone who needs to stay more than one night. Trust me!

“Horrible.. stay away!”

We traveled to niagara, and of course Im a typical budget conscious traveleller so I opted to stay in the cheapest hotel in town. And It was a horrible experience. The linens looked like it wasnt laundered very well, the carpet was smelly and dirty. I didnt even use their pillows, i opted to use my tiny car pillows in order to survive nightly stay in that horror hotel.

“Disgusting and run-down”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2009

We stayed at this hotel for a single night in september 2009.

The hotel is rather cheap and is in walking distance from the falls and the other attractions but that are the only plusses it has.

I don't know what the ton of other hotels in the city cost, but I would really recommend spending a few extra bucks to avoid this hotel.

The room and the bathroom was filthy. We did not specifically request a non-smoking room and I'm not sure what our room was supposed to be -- smoking or non-smoking. There were no ashtrays but the both the room and the bathroom stank of smoke. We were too tired to go request another room but after waking up in that smell I really wish we had!

The bathroom and the shower were an...interesting...experience. At first there were no hot water but after running the water for a while it finally became warm. When it finally became warm it did, however, turn a "nice" shade of brownish red for a while. After running that sewer water for a while the water turned a normal color and we were able to shower.

We were glad that we did not forget any toiletries as the ones offered in the room were filthy (see picture). I really don't want to know what was on those bottles. Half of them were also from other hotel chains, namely Howard Johnson and Ramada Inn.

The hotel did offer wireless high-speed internet, but our room was too far away from the reception to get coverage. So if you end up staying at this hotel and want to use the internet, make sure to get a room close to the reception.

The people at the hotel were nice, though, and they let us park our car there all day while we went to check out the sights.

I would recommend spending a bit more to get a better hotel, as this is too run-down and dirty.

“This place is disgusting!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2009

I disappointed myself. I thought I'd save a few bucks by staying at the Red Carpet Inn. What a mistake! Our room was filthy. I don't "cheap out" anymore when it comes to booking a hotel, thanks to this place.

“Run down but cheap”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2009

Went to Niagara Falls with a bunch of friends in May 2008. I stayed at this hotel in 2007 also. This place is close to the attractions and costs barely anything. The reason we stayed here even though it is run down and ghetto is because we were only expecting on sleeping in the room after a full day of activities. Obviously if you are planning on lounging in the hotel room, this is not the place for it. It was convenient for us but I agree, this is not a great hotel. I would only recommend it for people like me, who use a hotel room for sleeping and storing luggage only and want to be close to the attractions for cheap.
