Stayed in March of 2011. We were from out of state and were attending a two day family funeral. Around 7 PM that night we decided not to inconvenience any local relatives and to try to find a decent place to stay instead. Other family recommended the Radisson in New Rochelle, as they had stayed there on a previous trip. We called over to the hotel and luckily they had a room available for us to arrive late that night.
When we arrived that evening it was obvious that the lobby and first floor were undergoing major renovations, as there were tarps and plastic coverings everywhere. Our room was lovely, clean, modern and comfortable. We had a good night's sleep- although we had trouble falling asleep due to loud guests in the hallway and were awoken by 6 AM by a family with young children that were staying above us (...evidently the walls are very thin)
As we prepared to begin our day, we called down to the desk when it was discovered that the hotel's water had been shut-off (due to construction). After assuring us that the service would return shortly, the front desk called us back a short time later, to tell us that water was again available. Now behind schedule, someone in our group quickly jumped into the shower...only to have the water turn ice cold...and remain ice cold. Needless to say, everyone else in our room decided not to shower!
When checking out a short time later, we informed the desk of our having to wait for water service, the issue of the cold-turning shower and our loss of showering ability. The desk person quickly extended a 50% discount and a complimentary breakfast buffet for the three of us.
I must say that although we were sorely inconvenienced, it was somewhat beyond their control and that the front desk remedied the situation to our satisfaction.
Very nice hotel, great customer service, would definitely recommend.
