Stayed for one night. I usually stay at Hampton Inns but none are in the area.
Holiday Inn Utica, basically is in need of a makeover. Rugs and decor look like late 80's. Rooms are clean but dated in appearance.

NOTE: Everyone I dealt with was very helpful and friendly. The staff is trying hard, its just that they are dealing with an older property.
If you are a priority club member you will get 2 coupons, one for use in the bar, and one for a free drink item from their sundry store.

There is no business center, but free high-speed wireless in the rooms is a plus.

I would stay there again. This is the best choice of the limited hotels in the area.

Turning stone casino is about 25 min away from this location.

While there are hotels in downtown Utica, including the charming Hotel Utica, the New Hartford area is far safer than the downtown hotels. The hotel is situated at one entrance to an office park and also borders a local high school. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and the on-site restaurant is good but better restaurants are a short drive away. Finally, there is plentiful hotel parking in the lot though at times you will find yourself not parked in the nearest spots to your room. For longer stays in the hotel there are four efficiency apartments with 1 bedroom and kitchen.

Commercial Drive (Route 5A) is a three minute drive from the hotel and over the last few years Commercial Drive has been built up. The area now includes new chain restaurants that fit in well with some of the established family restaurants and there are plenty of new stores including a Barnes and Noble, with a cafe, for those of you that want to spend time with a book during your stay.

Travel to downtown Utica is about 8-10 minutes in the morning and any other time during the day. Of note in downtown Utica are the numerous Italian restaurants along Bleecker Street and some of the other surrounding streets. Grimaldi's and Chesterfields are two of the better restaurants on Bleecker St. Also, Delmonico's on Genesee Street is very, very good. Ask the hotel desk staff for recommendations.

This Holiday Inn is a perfect place to stay if visiting or attending events at Hamilton College. It is an easy 15 minutes away from the college, and near restaurants and any shopping you may need to do. This is not a fancy hotel, but the room was very clean, the bed as comfortable as a hotel bed can be, and the staff very helpful and friendly. Being a bit closer to Hamilton than hotels in Utica, we will definitely stay here again.
