My boyfriend and I stayed there for the second time this past weekend. We both love it and plan to come back many more times. We love listening to the sound of the waves hitting the wall while relaxing in the room. We found it very romantic. It is very very clean and the rates are the most reasonable we have found compared to many of the other motels we have stayed in in Montauk. We love it.

My husband and I and our 5 year old son stayed at the Sun n Sound for a week and LOVED it. The views are amazing, the location is great. Its just a quick walk to Gosmans and the surrounding shops. The beach is just around the corner, very private, clean, and the water much calmer than the ocean side. We were able to bogey board and had a great time. The Sun n Sound staff were very nice and helpful. Our room was water view on the first floor and very nice. It was alittle musty smelling but it is right on the water so this is normal. This was a great vacation and the view of the sunset from the deck is like nothing I have ever seen.

I recently went to Sun N Sound for the weekend. I was disapointed when I walked into the room. The screen door was falling off, the deck had green mold all over it, and the kitchen appliances were very old, and the room smelled odd.
I have to say that the people who worked there were so kind and that the sunsets over the water were magnificent. It is hard to sleep if you get a room on the bottom level because all we heard were the footsteps from the people above us and each footstep from the running kids in the room next to us.
The location is great if you want an oceanview. You will feel like you are on a cruise when you look out your room window. Still, I doubt that I will ever stay there again because of the noise and the fact that the place needs major updating.

We stayed on the lower level facing the sound during the peak season, and it was $180 a night plus tax. I'd say the location is great, but the room could use a face-lift. The kitchen and bathroom show signs of age and deterioration. Not sure about the other rooms, I don't feel the kitchenware are in the condition they should be for the price we paid for. The can opener was rusty and not usable. If you want to cook, buy your groceries from big name supermarkets in your home town. The prices in the nearby market were outrageous... we could have enjoyed some fancy seafood fare with the money we spent on making spaghetti and meatball.
