We stayed here for our honeymoon in 2006, and we loved every minute of it. The staff were super friendly. The food was nicely varied. Although we soon found our favorites and stuck with it. The cocktails were fab ! Planters Punch was our fav! The evenings entertainment was a bit repetitive, different theme same style, so we tended to give it a miss. The bright colours of the main building were right up my street. Yes it might seem a little shabby to those used to the Ritz but we found it added to the holiday and made the place seem really cosy. You didn't feel like you were breaking the law by slinging your legs over the arm of the chair and relaxing. They had lovely little shops with everything you need. and they had internet and postal services. The pool was always clean, as was the beachs, and they even have waiters come to you o the beach taking orders. There was always staff trying to get you to join games etc. They had diving lessons too. THere are plenty of quiet spots on the beach if you go further round the bend. The local sellers on the beach or so much fun, so so friendly, we chated to Pablo about his granddaughter for ages. The excursions were just amazing, we just loved them all !!! We drive the capital and that's a crazy place to drive around!! You have to have your wits about you to drive around the island. Don't expect beauty everywhere it is a developing country and you get mansions next door to shanti towns. But the people are so nice. I can't wait to go back, and I would defo go back to this hotel. But at a warmer time of year. We went in September and it was quite windy on the beach. They say the East side of the island is warmer.
