We stayed here for our honeymoon in 2006, and we loved every minute of it. The staff were super friendly. The food was nicely varied. Although we soon found our favorites and stuck with it. The cocktails were fab ! Planters Punch was our fav! The evenings entertainment was a bit repetitive, different theme same style, so we tended to give it a miss. The bright colours of the main building were right up my street. Yes it might seem a little shabby to those used to the Ritz but we found it added to the holiday and made the place seem really cosy. You didn't feel like you were breaking the law by slinging your legs over the arm of the chair and relaxing. They had lovely little shops with everything you need. and they had internet and postal services. The pool was always clean, as was the beachs, and they even have waiters come to you o the beach taking orders. There was always staff trying to get you to join games etc. They had diving lessons too. THere are plenty of quiet spots on the beach if you go further round the bend. The local sellers on the beach or so much fun, so so friendly, we chated to Pablo about his granddaughter for ages. The excursions were just amazing, we just loved them all !!! We drive the capital and that's a crazy place to drive around!! You have to have your wits about you to drive around the island. Don't expect beauty everywhere it is a developing country and you get mansions next door to shanti towns. But the people are so nice. I can't wait to go back, and I would defo go back to this hotel. But at a warmer time of year. We went in September and it was quite windy on the beach. They say the East side of the island is warmer.

We just came back from 10 nights at le Coco. We stayed there in 4 years ago. It deteriorated so much in 4 years! Our room was infected with ants and spiderwebs!
I wanted to leave the next day to upgrade to Sugar Beach, but they were fully booked. Le Touessrok could take us, but we had to pay 650 Euro pp per day!.
So we stayed, made the best of it. The service is still good, the menu not what it was before it became fully inclusive, but still not too bad.
I know they are going to build a new hotel on the premises, but I' won't recommend it to anyone....

“Lovely holiday!”

Stayed at this hotel from 15/11 to 24/11.

Firstly, from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, the staff make you feel very very welcome - they are all very friend and are extremely helpful. When we arrived, we were whisked into the bar and were presented with a welcome drink.

Our room (336) was in the Palm Beach wing of the hotel in a standard room, and if you prefer to be slightly further away from the action, then when booking I'd recommend you ask for a room in this wing rather than the Long Beach wing, which is closer to the bar, which houses all of the late night entertainment. The room itself was lovely and clean, and had a mini bar of non-alcoholic drinks - all of which are free if you are on an all inclusive package (there is a price list on top of it, which confused us initially!)

The hotel itself is a large complex. I agree with some of the other comments that it is in need of an update, but that didn't affect our holiday in anyway.

The good thing about this hotel is that there are lots of beaches to choose from. Initially I thought the beaches would be crowded given the size of the hotel, but we always managed to find a sunbed and our own little bit of paradise on the beach - as the complex is so large, you don't get the over crowdedness you can get if you are somewhere like Spain. We didn't use the pool whilst we were there - prefer the beach - but there were always plenty of sunbeds.

The food was okay - was a bit hit and miss some evenings, but then you get that wherever you stay and the food isn't always going to be to your taste. The main restaurant is buffet style, which is great as you can choose what you want. We managed to find a good time to go down, as sometimes it felt like feeding time at the zoo, and there were lots of kids running around by the buffet, one of which nearly sent my boyfriend flying with a hot plate of food...!! In terms of variety, however, there was always plenty of different dishes to choose from.

The downsides: personally I found the guys who operated the non-motorised water hut really rude. I booked a windsurfing lesson and happened to be doing it at the same time as a very tall striking German girl - needless to say, I was completely ignored for the duration of the lesson, which I found very unhelpful when it was meant to be a lesson. Also, another guy was just left to his own device to learn, whilst his instructor stood and chatted up another guest.

I also asked for a snorkel and was told that I could only have it for an hour....!!?? by the time I'd walked back to the section of beach where we were, we hardly had anytime - wasn't too impressed with this either.

Overall, however, plenty to do and you won't get bored. If you're not looking for 5 star luxury, but just a good base to have a wonderful holiday, then this is the place to stay. We both had a brilliant time.

“Bright and colourful hotel good value good service.”

My wife and I spent our honeymoon here 22/09/08 - 29/09/08 the first thing we noticed was all the bright colours the staff we very friendly and seemed to speak many languages.

We had read online reviews before going and noticed complaints about the fact there are lots children on the resort but this wasn't a problem as we are a young couple 20, 27 but to our surprise there didn't seem to be many children when we arrived this is because they were all with the kids club from 9-5.

The main currency used on the resort was €uros but they accepted all currency.

The hotel is showing it's age and everything was clean, however I was told the complex will be completely rebuilt into two new hotels a 4*& 5* starting next year 2009-2011

The food was out of this world, breakfast, lunch and dinner in the buffet restaurant was cooked to the highest standards and there is plenty of choice, However if you are vegetarian and abit fussy with food then you only need to ask for something you like.

If you go out for day trips you can ask for a picnic lunch the night before with is part of your all inclusive.

The night entertainment was basic and loud but very good.

All inclusive drinks were all local and were to a good quality, the cocktails are abit strong.

The Boathouse Al a Carte restaurant on the beach front was not all inclusive but you did get €9.50 per person off your meal and the drinks were still all inclusive.

We did so many things while we were in Mauritius, We wrote an activity diary so we wouldn't forget what we had done.

On our first day we went to Andys riding which is at le coco beach where you are led round the resort. We seen the giant tortoise and took a few pictures, we also went on the free glass bottomed boat.

We booked our activities with the tour rep for the week and haggled the price down as we booked so many things.

On the Tuesday we noticed that there was a free scuba diving lesson in the pool which was very good. We also got a taxi to port Louis and went to the market.

On Wednesday we hired a car €50 and We went on a underwater subscooter trip. It's half an hour at just 3m under water.

On Thursday we noticed that there was a free water skiing and then went parasailing after.

On Friday we went to Le ' Toile where we when quad biking up a mountain for about 2 hours had lunch there with free archery after then we went horse riding up a mountain for 2hours.

On Saturday we went on a catarman and saw the dolphins and had a swim in the clear sea.

*Remember to use sun cream after you have been swimming because it doesn't take long to get burnt also take your wedding ring off when you swim as i lost mine :.( .

If you don’t like geckos I am sorry but there on the walls outside the hotel at night but we didn't have any in our room.

There are lots of birds around and some come into the restaurant area but its not much of a problem you soon get use to it.

Overall Excellent value for money our holiday cost £1780 for both of us all inclusive with fights and transfers through Dreamticket and we only had to pay for our days out which averaged £50 per person.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone aged 18-60 there is so much to do here and see. If you shop around you can get a cheap holiday in paradise. The resort is large it’s a shame it will be made into two hotel but the hotel is in need of refurbishment.

We went to Mauritius this summer with our 7 months old baby girl and stayed for a week in Le Coco Beach Hotel located on the eastern side of Mauritius with white sandy and pristine beaches .

We got a red carpet treatment right from the time we arrived in Mauritius till the time we came back. it was amazing overall and i think one week is not enough.

this 3 * plus resort is fantastic with lovely people always willing to help; exotic creole food; everyday evening creole entertainment with all the little kids always decked up and friendly DJs. they had golf carts which can take you anywhere within this huge hotel complex with 4 beaches..and lots of landscaped gardens..and greenery.

We stayed in the superior villas [ recommended ] near the long beach which have the garden in front and then the ocean view ahead ..]..

they also had free lessons for sailing and water skiing etc..the parasailing was pretty amazing..since it gets off from a plaform in the middle of the ocean..

also recommended is the scenic south day tour which is very beautiful.

i would highly recommend this hotel
