“Better then its looks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

I stayed in this hotel last week and the carpent in the rooms and hall are not very updated but if you can get around that the staff is better then a chain hotel I stay at in Qew Gardens,
Every time you pass a staff member they are always saying hi and if I need help. I took the shuttle into the city and the driver was great he gave me a bussiness card and adviseled me if I got lost to call the hotel and they will help me. Breakfast was great most hotel give a bagel and butter and some juice, this hotel does alot more. It is a sit down type breakfast from coffee to juice and eggs and bacon great job. There was one problem. I went to the vending machine to get a lemon lime type soda, do to my stomach was acting up at night. I ask the man at the front desk where was the store and he advised me its about 3 blocks so I decided just to go back to the room. About 10 min later there was nock on my door it was the manager with two cans of 7up. Wow this just blew me away and I will always use this hotel. I also herd that they will be doing so upgrades in the next month can t wait and I will be back Thank you

Room Tip: You will have a great stay and the staff will help you

“A great hotel and great staff”

I stayed at the hotel on Feb 1st by mistake, I had a reservation at the Howard Johnsons not far from this hotel, when I arrived at the Howard Johnsons they gave my room away so I look on my Iphone and found this hotel. When I arrived at the hotel I ask if they can meet the price that I was paying at the other hotel. The young girl at the front said let me speak to the Hotel Manager, When I turned around the manager was getting off the elevator and the clerk called him over and he matched the price plus I got a great free breakfast and the wifi Internet was great, After I got to my room I recevied a phone call from the Hotel Manager to see if every thing was ok. The manager and his team was great and now this will be the only hotel I stay at when I am in Queens,NY. By the way the shuttle driver was great he hlped me to get in to the city. Keep up the great work and I will be back Thanks Jm

“Overpaying for a bad Hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

The lobby looks inviting, and the people at the people who are at the reception and friendly. The hotel is in a residential area, and I felt absolutely safe walking at night. It is within walking distance of the subway, which was great for seeing New York City. That's about it for the pros. The parking is an EXTREMELY tight fight, and is always occupied. There is nowhere else nearby to park. The hallway carpet is disgusting and very dirty. We stayed on the second floor, and the hallway smelt like cigarette smoke. The rooms were clean, and the hotel had free Wi-Fi. The rooms were extremely small, especially the bathroom, and it was difficult to cram a family of four in the room. The staff, for the most part, was friendly, but some staff members were very rude. The free breakfast was OK, lots of variety but the food wasn't very good. The staff member at the breakfast area was very rude. Overall, it's not a good hotel for what you're paying for. You pay way too much for a bad hotel. I would be OK with the hotel if it was cheaper.

“Low budget hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

At first look hotel is nice, but don't let the lobby fool you. Rooms are very moldy and carpet is disgusting in hallways. If not for lobby this hotel is borderline motel. Breakfastnwas good and staff was friendly eager to help. Make sure you don't call a cab from front desk the price is more expensive your better off walking to gas station to hail yellow cab or get a local cab number from yellow pages. If your on budget and need a place to crash for one night this is it. Otherwise fork over the extra money for a nicer hotel. Walk to train is far and you will end up spending more on cab rides.

Room Tip: Choose room away from highway and first floor

“Great stay for great price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

We stayed two nights at the Queensboro Hotel and are delighted to have found it. Our daughter, husband and baby live in a small apartment in Brooklyn with no room for guests, so we were looking for a reasonably-priced place to stay when we come to visit. This was a real find and will be the extension guest room for future visits!

The front desk is staffed with friendly, helpful people--including at times the manager, who is anxious to provide a quality experience.

The hotel is clean, the room was a good size with great mattress/pillows and hd televsion. The mini-refrig, microwave and coffee maker enable visitors to save additional money by "eating in" on occasion. But not for breakfast, because your stay includes a very nice breakfast--eggs, bacon, waffles, cereal, yogert, etc. Plus if you drove you get free (you read right: free) parking; unheard of at hotels in NYC! This is a real bargain for the price you pay.

One potential negative is its proximity to a major highway, but we had a room closest to the road, and decided the hotel had good insulation because there was little noise from it.

We will definitely be staying here again and encourage others touring NY to do the same.
