“Absolutely pitifull situation going on hear , DO NOT GO ! or PAY !”

I was getting a travel trailer camper deliverd up in Liberty NY. The delivery was pushed to next day. I went into town for a hotel/motel stay for the nite. I saw the old "HOJO" sign and fiquired "it is what it is". Id crash and spent the nite in a typical travelers hotel. Id have a clean room, professional staff, nice coffee and breakfast in am, I was actually looking foward to It. No stress , all is good ,I will get my camper squared away tommow !
WELL , was I sadly mistaken. Without all the specific particulars ( you can read about them on other reveiws -yes there true) , i would say this hotel is the root of all mans evil. No, really , they dont care abotu people or customers, they are not clean/health hazard issues here, They are taking your hard earned cash (American cash). Its really a con HOJOS sells "people "francises , these "people" burn american citizens and ship the cash to 3 rd world nation. Nobody is protecting us ? This hotels been doing this for YEARS ! Could I open a hotel , use a big name hotel chain , do practically nothing for my guests, violate just about every basic business and customer service code of conduct. false advertise and expose people to unwarrented health risks and stress. Its a mockery , while you or you wife is trying to get clean towels, of coffee...These folks are laughing in your face ! in fact actually tring to increase your suffering if you complain or want your money back . Its an SRO homeless shelter NOT a HOJO hotel. I booked in and (the people living in the lobby were like shocked ? ) then I left and didnt return ( I felt guily ) but having read the reviwes of people who actually made it to the room. I now feel like a champ , having avoided the bed buds . For Real ! Just say no to this societal nemisies.

“This motel is very badly run”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2010

We were not impressed with this motel. We got a very sour reception when we checked in (the it's just my job attitude), but things got more entertaining after that. Breakfast was advertised from 6:30am to 9:30am, so I imagined I would be able to get some coffee and pastries when I went to reception at about 7:15am. Not so. The counter top was completely bare, except for a blodge of margerine and a generous sprinking of stale crumbs. The Indian manager apologized and went off to get the service boy, while I helped myself to the stone cold coffee. The boy appeared, looking like he had just got out of bed (which he had), and I had to wait 20 minutes for the food to be set out. Later on the manager apologized to me again, and blamed the service boy for everything, but I reminded him that the buck stops with management. Surely he could have seen that breakfast had not been prepared and laid out (if he had chosen to check it out, that is). The funniest part was to hear him shouting at the poor maintenance guy in front of all of the motel guests. Fawlty Towers (old UK comedy show) has nothing on this place! Oh, and it was quite expensive too.

“Bedbugs”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2010

I stupidly started across route 17 alone on a Saturday night in July with no room booked, and all motels were full. At 7 p.m. I saw this one and felt it was my last chance. I should have slept in the car. I am covered with bedbug bites on my arms and legs.

TripAdvisor must realize that the five-star reviews posted for this place are all written by friends and relatives of the owners, who are either Pakistani or Indians. The language is a dead give away (we don't call workers "staffs" and rarely begin a sentence with "Always they are ..." )

People from the Indian subcontinent, whether from India itself, or Pakistan, are increasingly visible in the US motel field, and I have not found their establishments to be very comfortable... This is not prejudice, it is a simple observation. Even when the place is tidy and clean and the service polite, there are paper thin towels and no bedside reading lights. This is my third experience in such a place, but my very first experience with bedbugs. A recent NYTimes story said they were on the increase.

The employees ("staffs') are usually family members, and they treat the motel like their own home and I don't mean that in a good way. The overpowering odor of curry and incense and a lot of family members sitting in the lobby are a hallmark of their management. I've travelled a lot in the world and am not an American who expects everyone to live the way we do -- but, please, in my own country, can't I expect that?

When I entered, the woman desk clerk was beyond rude, handed me a key and said "If you are liking you can stay, if not, go." Well, OK. I was desperate and although the room was too expensive, and not very clean, I stayed. [The Italian restaurant next door is not bad, by the way. ] There were busloads of teenagers staying in the motel and they all ran up and down the halls and yelled until about 3:30. I did not bother to call the desk, knowing that would be futile.

At 7 a.m. the "staffs" got up and started calling to one another from one end of the hall to the other. I gave up sleeping at that point. I hadn't discovered the bedbug bites yet, but when I wearily arose to shower and get out of there, I found I had broken out in a "rash." The dermatologist I consulted Monday told me what the rash came from.

Am I going to tell Mrs. Desk claerk? probably not - the abuse she would heap on me would be worse than the bites. This place is a diaster; filthy, neglected, noisy, and $125 a night.

If you are not liking, you can go. Ah, had I only heeded that sage advice. I am definitely not liking.

“Bedbugs! I checked in around 10pm without...”

Bedbugs! I checked in around 10pm without a reservation. Was given a discounted rate to take a room w/one broken, one functional bed. Lay down on comforter and fell asleep. Awoke to back itching. Tiny, bleeding bites on my back and stomach. Given another room. In 2nd room, toilet won't stop running, and tub (of course had to take hot shower!) won't drain. Room rate after discount still astronomical for the quality of this hotel. It is cheap and dirty. Do not stay here if you have any other choice! I will request a full refund after the whole 5 hours of sleep I'll get tonight.
