The hotel is actually in South Lansing, about 5 miles north of Ithaca. It is not really near anything else; if you were planning on wandering around you will have to do it by car. The hotel is historically interesting and has been restored modestly, not lavishly. If you are into high-end B&Bs, you'll probably be disappointed; if you're into quirky local establishments, you will be quite comfortable. For the price, it's a good night's sleep. The Rogue's Harbor Brewing Company, which occupies a shed behind the hotel and sells beer at the hotel bar, makes an outstanding amber ale.
