“Quirky but clean and reasonably priced.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2011

The hotel is actually in South Lansing, about 5 miles north of Ithaca. It is not really near anything else; if you were planning on wandering around you will have to do it by car. The hotel is historically interesting and has been restored modestly, not lavishly. If you are into high-end B&Bs, you'll probably be disappointed; if you're into quirky local establishments, you will be quite comfortable. For the price, it's a good night's sleep. The Rogue's Harbor Brewing Company, which occupies a shed behind the hotel and sells beer at the hotel bar, makes an outstanding amber ale.

Room Tip: Note that two of the rooms (#3 and #4) do not have bathrooms en suite.

“Historic Hotel Oozing Character”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

We managed to get a room here at a very crowded time in Ithaca NY--just before Cornell's graduation. The hotel has been lovingly restored but still shows its age by the distinctiveness of rooms. Ours was very comfortable with private bath. A breakfast was included. It also has a decent restaurant/bar on the ground floor--a real plus for a place outside of town. Because it was a 19th century hostelry, it is on the intersection of two state roads, so there are no extensive grounds. We had some business in Ithaca, but also were sightseeing in the area. The hotel itself doesn't have business type amenities, but we did not need them there. It was a fine location for sightseeing in the region.

“Excellent Experience - Definately an "AGAIN"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2011

We stayed at the Inn during our son's wedding weekend. It is a lovely place - very quaint and definately better than a hotel/motel. The rooms are clean and the food is great. Off the beaten path a bit and that makes it all the better. Definately a place to visit again.

“Don't stay here unless you love ghosts and road noise”

I thought the place looked cute online and there were good reviews. This was the worst vacation ever. The bar and restaurant are fine, but the third floor seems like the building is sinking, all the floors and doorways are unsettlingly uneven. The place is so scary I couldn't sleep. It didn't help that there is horrible road noise and the beds and pillows are hard as rocks. We changed rooms once and left a day early because it was so bad.

“Very pleased with my stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 March 2011

Had a meeting at Cornell and found this inn on the internet. Price was right and 5 minutes to Cornell. The room was very clean and the staff was pleasant. the room because of the age of the building has uneven floors, but the large slegh bed was very comfortable. My wife came with me and she enjoyed the room. I didn't notice but she said the walls are a little thin to noise outside. I slept great and she did once she fell asleep. The morning breakfast was excellent. B&B guest have breakfast on he third floor in the large ball room up stairs. Fresh fruit and several homemade breakfast treats were available. The breakfast is from 8 to 10. Wish we could have had breakfast at 7, so we could get on the road earlier. Bathroom was in the hallway and very clean. The shower is a little tight. Tall guys may not like it, low shower head.
