My stay here was perfect. I found the accommodations really comfortable and homey. We had a couple of rainy days while we were there, but I was happy to just stay inside the house and enjoy the cozy surroundings. When the weather got nice, I found that the house was well-positioned for exploring the town. You could easily walk to the shops, the lakes, and other attractions. And yet, you also felt removed from the hustle and bustle. The surrounding gardens were glorious and the deck was great for gazing out over all the trees and scenery. I'd highly recommend the Lake Placid Retreat!

My husband and I along with two other couples spent a great week at the Lake Placid Retreat. We really enjoyed being close to town but it was nice that the house was down the end of a private road and very quiet. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The laundry room was a big plus. We did a lot of skiing and snowboarding and just relaxing. Highly recommended

Staying at Lake Placid retreat has been the highlight of my visits to the Adirondacks to ski, bike, and enjoy the marvelous outdoors. It's a great place to stay with multiple families (comfortably fits 2-3 families), the open and well-equipped kitchen makes mealtime a delight, and the proximity to world-class hiking and skiing make this a truly special lodging. The fireplace and huge picture windows showcasing the beautiful setting amidst pine trees and soaring mountains are also great.

we really loved the tasteful decor and beautiful view from the back deck. we also enjoyed taking the canoe out of for a spin on the nearby pond. the retreat offered a great escape from city life and was a short distance to downtown lake placid and all its attractions.
