I've been using this hotel for the last three years as a launch pad for my various skiing and climbing trips, and we love the place, its the best cheap deal in town.
Ok, so you have to bring your own shampoo (you know you have a hoard from other trips at home anyway, and admit it - hotel shampoo sucks regardless), and sometimes you've gotta let the shower run a bit till it gets real hot, but the important stuff is all there: the beds are very comfortable, sheets (and the room) are clean and fresh, and every year theres another sign they've done some improvements, fresh carpet, paint, etc. Plus, with a microwave and fridge, you're ready for some low-cost eating, heating up whatever's going in your thermos for the day, or keeping your brews cold. For the ultimate experience, pack some coffee and fixins (they'll give you filters if you ask), and you can even have a decent real cup of coffee in your hotel room!
This is a place run by a local family, so don't expect five-star 24/7 service - they get there when they can, but they're always willing to help. So if you're willing to accept a few small sacrifices, and you're not the type of person that sweats about the small stuff, you'll find yourself quite content in the best deal in town.
