This place is a gem. A wonderful spacious room, very clean, good central heating, renovated immaculate bathroom – all this in the upgraded standard room. I couldn’t have asked for more, especially for around $100 per night for my family of three. I didn’t take any pictures because it looks exactly like the shots on the website.

One of the things I liked about Art Devlin’s is that the motel has a personality of its own, much more character than a chain hotel. I think the place embodies some of the character of Lake Placid.

The staff were helpful whenever I asked them for a taxi, directions, maps etc. While I was there, they found a lost glove and tried to track down the owner. Very thoughtful.

The location was perfect for us. Though slightly out of town, it was a lovely walk to “the village centre” and we had a chance to check out the main street. After we hired a car, we found that it made no difference that the motel is a few hundred meters from the centre when you’re driving.

There are plenty of eateries in the immediate vicinity, including the Lake Placid Pub and Brewery (great beer and free popcorn). We also loved the Dancing Bear at the other end of Main Street. And we loved Art Devlin’s!

This is our second time staying at Art Devlin's and I will make this my home every time I return to LP/Whiteface. Last year we stayed in the suite because we wanted to cook in a few nights. The suite is huge, impeccably decorated, and very cozy and comfortable. We can't say enough about it. This year we decided to stay in an upscale room. Once again the room is huge, very clean, tastefully decorated, very nice views, large deck, large fridge, closet space, etc. The staff is very friendly; the upscale speciality rooms were booked for the weekend we were here but the first night we were here it was vacant so they let us take a peak. OMG enough said I will treat myself to one of these rooms next time. Art is very friendly and has done a terrific job restoring this Inn. He went out of his way to inform us of local area attractions, free shuttle to Whiteface, etc. The breakfast is basic so if you want a place with a hearty breakfast stay elsewhere but if you want a top notch lodging experience at an affordable price stay here. Kudos Art!!!

Good location and good value, people are friendly and its close to the arena , restronts are close the first one in your way to up town is mr. Mikes!!! Enjoy stayng at art devlins

The hotel is extremely average but definitely comfortable enough to save a few bucks. No amenities, poor lighting, but very clean and just down the road from Main Street. Our friends had a suite, however, and it was absolutely amazing - fully stocked kitchen, wrap-around balcony, very much mondern, and beautiful ceilings. Sorry - I don't know how much they paid.

I do have to say though, considering our visit was in January, I wish they would pay to have their parking lot plowed and salted. I also heard that the free donuts and muffins at the front desk aren't much to wake up for either.

End result - if I don't have another hundred bucks a night to splurge on one of the upper clas hotels, I would book a room again. Thanks Art Develin for a clean room to sleep in... but not for much else.
