My wife and I stayed here for the first three nights of our honeymoon and we loved every minute of it! The property is located in a beautiful meadow a few miles outside of the hustle and bustle of Lake Placid. The house is set back far from rte 73 down a long dirt driveway so it is extremely private and quiet. From our room (the Wild Flower room) we had an excellent mountain view. The house is also beautifully remodeled and very clean. There are no televisions in the rooms which my wife and I found to be an added bonus. Nancy cooks a tasty breakfast every morning and there was always good conversation around the breakfast table. Lastly be sure to check out the maple sugar shack that is on the property, we bought a whole case of syrup to share with family and friends! We definitely hope to return in the winter to cross country ski on the Olympic trails that are accessible from the back yard!

We stayed at the South Meadow Farm Lodge for the first time in January 2004, for a getaway weekend. We were delighted with every aspect of our stay. The owners were very accommodating, helpful, friendly. The lodge was beautiful, with breathtaking views of the nearby mountains. Breakfasts were hearty and delicious. The best part of the experience was that you can ski out the back door to the VanHovenburg Cross Country Ski Center, a world class ski center (ski passes included with the room). There are no TVs or phones in the rooms, which enhances the peace and tranquility. We had the Adirondack room which had a gas stove, king size bed, and private bath with shower and whirlpool tub. It was very spacious and comfortable.I thought the South Meadow Farm Lodge was a very good value, and would highly recommend it, especially if you are interested in a cross country ski vacation. However, this would also be a nice place to stay even if you weren't skiing. Its about a 10 minute drive from the village of Lake Placid.
