My sister and I needed a place to stay in Lake Placid for the night; we were picking up my nephew from ice hockey camp and needed something affordable. The room and bathroom was very clean, beds comfortable, mini fridge, and air conditioning cold. It is a basic place, probably for those on a budget, which we were. I would stay here again and recommend this place to others who are in need of a good budget hotel.
This darling, adorable establishment is run by a woman named Anna and her husband. They have clearly put their heart and soul into this place and it shows. Of course they had all the essentials: The room and linens were fresh and clean, the shower was warm, they have a pool (though we didn't use it, as we're on Mirror Lake and Lake Placid), and our room included a mini fridge and air conditioning. But beyond the standard, the entire hotel has a certain European charm, as Anna and her husband are in fact European. They were so accommodating whether I needed extra towels or holding our luggage after we had checked out for the day, as we didn't have anywhere else to put the luggage for a few hours. They were pleasant and enjoyable conversationalists. Anna's husband even built and painted a white picket fence out in front in one day!
All in all, this place was cozy, well run and charming. What more could you want from a hotel?
It was clean and roomy, larger than a typical hotel chain room. The lady at the front desk was very nice a accommodating. The rooms are a little dated. Overall a very good experience.
We stayed for 2 nights in February. Usually I have a difficult time sleeping on the road but not at this place. It was one of the best places I have ever stayed at in Lake Placid. The beds are excellent as well as clean. The room was spotless. The owners were very friendly and very accomodating. When we travel to Lake Placid from now on this will be our place to stay. Maybe next time we will try the honeymoon suite.
