If you want to go to Gambia do your research and pick your hotel for the holiday you want.
I booked at Bakadaji Hotel as I wanted to experience the real gambia, and as it is gambian owned and the owner is also keeping a school going it would help gambians.
Gambians are a poor people so I didn't expect too much. it also depends on your attitude.
It was very comfortable in my bungalow but usual Gambian problems,If the power went off I would say, it's Gambia, and we would laugh about it, but that will happen anywhere in Gambia.
no bummers waiting to hassle the tourist as it is not in the tourist area
The hotel is in an ideal position if you wish to see both sides of gambia, a few minutes one direction to the tourist area, same the other way to the poor area.
I am going again, with a friend, it's just knowing what to expect
