“Bugs and bad customer service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011 via mobile

Great location. However there were bugs of all kinds. Spiders and their webs in all corners. Dirt, water damage, mold! Ants- big black ants crawling on walls, in bathroom, in toilet. Took pictures to prove it all.
Debbie and most of staff are RUDE. The owner is no better. We have video of him threatening a guest who complained about bugs. He runs the TIKI too another dump.
Don't trust anything you see -- the
place is a nightmare.
Pretty view but a nightmare!

“Great place to stay!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2011

My mother and I stayed at the resort overnight. The staff was freindly and the room had a full view of the lake. It was very clean and quiet. I would definately stay there again! Thank you, Tahoe resort!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011

convenient location on trolley line into town which is nice not to take car out after a long drive from jersey...... fridge and microwave is nice to have to bring for breakfast foods and lunch meats to save money... great for little kids since there's a nice built in pool over looking lake and beach is nice for kids also.... good value for money paid. def not a place if you are looking for major amenities.... we would go back :)

Room Tip: get room on pool lovel so u can use patio tables for breakfast and lunch... view not important...

“Wonderful time had by All”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

My girlfriend, two teen girls and I just returned from a stay at the Tahoe and can say we truly enjoyed it- especially the girls! I'll keep it short and list the positives and what few negatives I can think of, keep in mind I'm a middle class guy with a good income, not some condescending city snob ;)
Positives: plenty of patio areas with supplied chairs, tables and picnic tables, adequate beach (this is Lake George, not Daytona Beach lol!), the motel is made of concrete and cinder block so you don't hear the noise from other rooms plus they don't hear you if you have the TV on at 2 AM ;), the motel grounds slope down quite a bit from the road to the lake- which I Loved so I could sit on the balcony and concentrate on paperwork I needed to without ANY road noise, unlike most places around there, and they have apparently turned the motel around so it faces the other way- all the balconies now point South (which I think is better ;)- the photo on their website shows the whole place except the rest of the parking areas. I could be wrong, but this place might have more actual dirt and grass than all the other motels in or near Lake George put together. The room was very nice- beautiful tiled floor, very comfortable beds, the furnished fridge, microwave and coffee maker were very much appreciated, and the bathroom was nice, above average for a typical older motel :)
Negatives: I could connect to the Wifi with a good signal but my 4yo laptop had a hard time loading webpages half the time I tried....I had no use for the poolside bar or pinball machines so I can't comment on those....that's all I can think of...
For me, it paid off doing a little homework searching for a place to stay and looking at the motels' photos, and with this place, what you see is what you get! :)

“Hotel description misleading”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2011

My family and I have vacationed at Lake George for years and have usually stayed at a small family-operated motel just a few doors down from this place, This year, I wanted to stay at a place with more of a "resort" feel, with more activities and things to do. The website advertises a beach, pool, playground, game room, volleyball, and basketball, and as the name implies, it sounded more like a resort than just a place to rest your head. Don't be fooled. The beach is a very small strip of sand and the water area roped off is so small you can't swim, just wade. Even my 7-year old exclaimed "How can I swim in that?!" The so-called playground consists of a plastic swingset (2 swings and a slide) on a strip of grass wedged between parking lots. The set in my backyard is larger and nicer. The "game room" is actually a closet with two pinball machines. You get the idea.

Overall, the place has a weird layout and feel. Almost all of the rooms are situated so that the balconies actually face north, overlooking the parking lots, with a distant lake view. It's in need of renovation and the rooms and public areas are not very clean. Oddly, even though set in the beautiful Adirondacks, the place feels more like a concrete jungle than a rustic retreat. Plenty of white cinder block, black top, and metal rails, with a row of tress on the edge of the property and little green space in between.

As far as the room: none of the windows in the room actually opened so the only way to get a little air is to open either the front or balcony door, and of course, there are no screens on the doors. The room definitely could have been cleaner. Otherwise, the beds were fairly comfortable and everything worked fine.

Next time, I'm returning the small motel with the pool for the same price.
