Stayed at the Inn at Erlowest as a pre-wedding decompression getaway. We stayed in the Montcalm room, which had a private balcony overlooking the lake, as well as a spa tub and fireplace. We felt like royalty. Some of the decor could use some updating, but it's just minor stuff. The staff was friendly and helpful, ensuring that my fiance was able to get his morning coffee before the kitchen opened and taking care of anything we needed. The view from our room was spectacular. Only complaint was the wedding on the second night-- they had their after party on the patio below ours until all hours of the night which kept me awake pretty much the whole night. Would have been nice to be informed of that beforehand, or for there to be quiet hours for that section of hotel, since it is a small place.
The restaurant was amazing, and Zack, our server, was so knowledgeable and accommodating to our special dietary restrictions. He was attentive and careful, and I recommend asking for him if you book a reservation. The food was awesome, even just the continental breakfast-- the blueberry muffins are something to be missed.
Prices are a bit high, but overall, it was a nice getaway and we would definitely stay again. Just keep in mind that this is an OLD building, with some OLD features (like old air units). If you're into that, this is the place for you.
Room Tip: Ask for the Montcalm room for a private balcony overlooking the lake.
