Well, I don't even know where to start. My husband and I booked a room at this hotel for 4 nights including a New Year's Eve party package.
We made our reservation over the phone for a queen room. The person who booked the room for us informed that we could get a king room upon check in, if available.
Well, the first room we got was a queen room that faced the "game room" aka arcade where all those loud kids play games, yell and run. We did not want to stay in that room and we asked to be moved. They moved us to another queen room alleging that there were no kings available (besides the battle we had to go through telling the front desk attender that we DID NOT WANT A 2 DOUBLE BEDS ROOM)! The second room seemed nice and quiet. The windows faced some kind of creek and nobody seemed to walk through. We didn't use the showers the first night, however I did notice that the water in the sink did not get warm.
The next day, we spent most of the time out of the room/hotel. We went skiing, and when we came back we went into the pool and hot tub. After that, we return to the room to shower. That's when we find out that the room had NO HOT WATER. We tried everything with the shower knobs and nothing happened. After calling the useless reception desk, they sent over a "tech". No success there and we had to be moved to another room. All of a sudden they were able to find us a king room this time. Everything would have been great if the room wasn't located right next to the entrance door that was slammed every 5 min. Speaking of slamming doors, that brings me to another subject.
The guests in that hotel absolutely take over the place and turn it into a trailer park. Several families with at least 5 kids each bring food (I mean whole tables lined up near the pool), alcohol, guitar, radios, etc etc and camp out near the pool area. Complete bunch of WT if you ask me. They should go check out the RV shop located nearby. Guests there are loud, don't respect late hours- especially when they need to go outside to smoke a cigarette. People were passing by our door yelling, laughing pretty loudly at almost 1:00am. Disrespectful bunch of WT!
Wi-fi: Very poor signal in some areas of the hotel. In fact, the wifi was pretty bad everywhere. It kept disconnecting even by the front desk. In our room, it simply didn't work at all. After calling the front desk, they wanted us to call the 1-800 number for the internet provider. Seriously?
Overall conditions of the hotel are very poor. The ceiling in the pool area has leaks and rust everywhere. The carpet throughout the hotel was old, dirty and smelly. The bathrooms have mildew in the shower, stained tiles, etc. The "fitness room" has about 3-4 machines that are outdated.
I could go on and on with this review to express my disappointment with this place. We thought it would be like any other holiday inn. We weren't looking for anything fancy. Just regular and helpful staff, decent and clean amenities, and hopefully respectful guests. Instead, we could not wait to leave the place. It totally ruined our vacation.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU DON'T PLAN TO CAMP OUT NEAR THE POOL AREA LIKE THE OTHER WT!!!!!!
