“Best place to stay in Kingston”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

This hotel is a quick jump off of the highway and there are so many restaurants and amenities nearby. I was here on business twice and enjoyed my stays so much that this will now become my go to place when here. The first time I arrived, my room was right across from the elevators. The second time I was close to the stairwell and softdrink machines. I was so worried that there would be noise but I heard absolutely nothing. It was so quiet.

The rooms are clean and large. They all contain a nice sitting area, flat screen TV, refrigerator, microwave and coffee machines. You will have to ask for a room with a bathtub if you want one. The bedding and mattresses are all Marriott standard which is why I frequent this chain.

The breakfast served in the little cafe is of very good quality and they carry Starbucks coffee and make a mean Latte. The 'Healthy Scramble' is a very filling meal.

There is lots of free parking and the hotel is located right next to an Outlet mall if you have time to go shopping.

The gym has approximately 4 treadmills, 1 elliptical, 1 bike and freeweights/bench with a fountain and towels. The pool is very nice and there is a slide for the kids.

The laundry facilities are right beside the gym and the front desk supplies soap and bounce sheets so be sure and ask. It was about 4 dollars to wash a dry a load.

Good value for the dollar charged.

“Young Kids Love It”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We stay there every Thanksgiving when we visit friends in Rhinebeck. It is a typical self-serve Marriot but that is OK when you just want a place where the kids can roam around without creating a nuisance. They love the pool, minigym and hot tub. Breakfast is passable and the staff are easy-going/friendly. Not so easy howqever to find on the 1st visit as it is subsumed within a bigbox shopping center (a good perch on Thankgiving night from which to witness the feverish pitch of Black Friday Shopping Madness). Recommend getting adjoining rooms if you have 2 children.

“Great location, and great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

I was here on business in September and really enjoyed my stay. The staff was very friendly, and the rooms were nice. The location was great because I was able to walk to a nearby shopping center with restaurants and a movie theater. I would recommend this to other business and leisure travelers.

“Surprisingly Great Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

The Courtyard by Marriott Kingston is a nice hotel in a very commercialized area outside historic Kingston. I stayed here twice in the last two weekends for the New York State High School Football State Tournament, and it was a great place to stay. The lobby area is aesthetically pleasing with a breakfast area, lounge, 24/7 coffee station, and business center all in a centralized location.

Jacob, the deskperson, is one of the friendliest members of a hotel staff I've encountered anywhere.

The rooms are your typical 3-star rooms with ample space, good beds, and large bathrooms. The free wi-fi throughout the hotel works at great speeds inside the room as well.

The only complaint about the hotel is the freight train that comes through 1-2 times per night. It's best to stay in the middle of the building and in an "even-numbered room" to limit the noise from the train whistle.

The only comparison in the area is the Holiday Inn (which has been downgraded to a 2.5 star), and its in serious need of refurbishment. Without a doubt, this is the hotel to choose north of New Paltz and south of Albany.

Room Tip: Rooms in even numbers and towards the middle of the hallway are best.

“Top notch staff makes this hotel the best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

We loved the warm welcome from Jacob, the problem solving of Brandon, the extraordinary housekeeping staff who offered an immaculate room, the lovely young woman at breakfast who took such good care of us...just a great experience! It really is the staff that makes all the difference and Shiona, the asst manager has a great crew that works non-stop to make your visit enjoyable. Courtyard is the best of the hotels in the area; you won't be disappointed.
ps who doesn't like to see a plate of cookies waiting to tempt you when you walk in the door?
