“Meh. A bit under the Hampton Inn standard”
We stopped here en route to Cooperstown. Got in late, but received a friendly welcome from the desk clerk, who had late-night dining suggestions for us right off the bat. The hotel is right next door to the big Wegman’s so we opted for some in-room noshing (note: Wegman’s robust deli/ready-to-eat sections close at 10 pm). Our room was on the second floor, so had to schlep downstairs to get ice. No amenities for Diamond HH members (i.e. no bottled water, etc.). While an acceptable stay for one night, I probably wouldn’t stay longer; this property is in the bottom half of Hampton Inns I have stayed at, in terms of cleanliness, facilities wear & tear, etc. Time for a major overhaul of this property. Breakfast was typical Hampton Inn: barely edible, but we expected that and planned accordingly before hitting the road. I did appreciate the microwave in the breakfast room which is available for use 24/7. Exercise room is substandard. Convenient to highway.
Room Tip: Try to get a 1st or 3rd floor room.
