Stayed at the Hampton Inn Jericho Westbury on Long Island mid October. The hotel came highly recommended, lots of great reviews on TripAdvisor. It was a beautiful hotel and the rooms where comfortable, clean and large. Unfortunately when we went to check out we discovered that one of our bags was missing. We had a large bag of groceries that we had brought from our home to give to our daughter. It was filled with local specialties that she and her husband enjoy(we're from Ohio). This bag was not sitting on the floor next to a trash can nor was it half empty - it was a full bag! We had placed the bag on the desk in the room. I brought it to the attention of the front desk, which only had 1 person working, the poor kid was trying to check people out/in, run bags out to a car for a handicapped person and deal with my issue. After waiting 30 minutes for someone from housekeeping to show up (which they never did) I asked him if he even had any authority to do anything about it anyway and he typed in the computer for a few minutes and then announced that he had compted us one night. Wow! I was surprised and satisfied. Until 3 weeks went by and I realized I had been compted nothing! On a follow up call I was told that because I had prepaid my stay they couldn't refund anything. Nice. Bottom line, nice hotel but I doubt I will stay there again, I don't trust them and I don't like being lied to.
