I would strongly discourage anyone from staying at this hotel. The Hilton JFK in Queens, New York is extremely dishonest, the hotel charged me for an extra night that I was NOT there and the hotel will not remove the charge.
My companion and I checked out on Sunday, May 20th. I reviewed my statement at the checkout counter and everything looked okay. I get home, I check my account two days later and found that the hotel posted a charge on my banking account for an extra night-- stating that we stayed through Monday, May 21st (which was not true, we left on Sunday!). The hotel charged my account an extra $250+ for a night we weren't there!
On 5/24, I called for a manager, and the line was passed off to several staff-- I never spoke to a manager. Finally, I spoke to a woman named Adrienne (operator) who told me that there was a credit posted to my account for the exact amount I was overcharged. I asked her why I was overcharged for an extra night and she told me she didn't know. I asked her if there was a confirmation # associated with this "credit" and she told me no, but that I could call my bank to verify it and that it could "take a few days to show up". I called my bank on 5/29 to verify this supposed "credit" and the bank told me there was no such thing on record.
I am still waiting on this credit for over $250 to show up, and I am very upset that this amount of money was wrongly taken out of my account-- very sneaky!!!
I am very disappointed with the business practices of the Hilton JFK in Queens, New York. I never plan to return this hotel, and plan on telling everyone I know about this incident. Also, I would advise those who DO stay at this hotel to closely monitor their banking accounts for mistakes/extra charges.
Hilton JFK? Never again.
