Let me start by saying I would recommend this hotel to anyone who was just passing through and/or needed a nice, clean, inexpensive place to stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was not at all hard to find as it is conveniently located near the Jamaica Van-Wyck train station (It's about 25 mins to Manhattan on the E train). There were a lot of food places near by (Wendy's, dunkin donuts, McDonalds). The sheets were clean, there were extra towels in the bathroom, a desk in the room, a flat screen TV, dresser, and ironing board. Must say the room was kind of on the small side (King non-smoking room) but that wasn't an issue since I was the only one in it. Oh and the bed was soooo comfortable! All in all I will definitely book a room there again.

I booked this hotel at the last minute through Expedia's mobile app. The app automatically set the date for the following day and I needed a room for the same day.
I noticed to problem immediately after booking and called Expedia to change the date. They contacted the hotel and I was informed that because it was after their cutoff time I would be charged for a full night's stay despite the fact that the booking was only a few minutes old.
Both expedia and this hotel were blaming each others' policies, if you have any disputes with the hotel, don't expect them to work with you at all.

We needed a place near the Jamaica Medical Center and this is just 3 blocks away. It is NOT a luxury place but, when we stayed there (11/2011) it was clean and $100/night. The staff was incredibly helpful as we were dealing with many, many challenges due to the death of a relative. Breakfast, as it was, got us going in the morning. It was quieter than I'd expected it might be. While the neighborhood is rough, I did not feel unsafe. Be aware there are no places to eat nearby that would even warrant a review. We opted for Indian two nights (OK) and then went to Wendy's. Sigh. Given our situation, this place was a real plus.

Hotwired this room to fly out of JFK in the am. Wasn't expecting the Ritz Carlton but I wasn't expecting a seedy, rent by the hour, filthy, digusting dump either. Do not believe any of the reviews that say this place is clean..........there wasn't a clean thing about this place. Some examples, the air conditioner smelled like it had be urinated on and the sitting chair in the room was stained with, well who knows. The carpets were filthy and full of cigarrette burns and NYC has been non-smoking for how long? We were afraid to touch anything and couldn't wait to check out in the am. Had it not been in such a sketchy neighborhood, I would have slept in my car.
