I'm writing to confirm that the stay we had at the Howard Johnson In - JFK Airport was excellent and up to par to our expectations. Having been delayed all day in the airport and finally missing our flight to LHR, we needed a hotel very last minute. HOJO-JFK rooms were available and the accomodations were essential. We also appreciated that the hotel manager, Danny Patel, reimbursed us our taxi fare when the hotel transport vans were not available after we booked our room. Please do not hesitate booking a room at this hotel because the breakfast was also great and so was the gym recreational facilities! Thanks again for your hospitality HOJO-JFK staff and we will be sure to use your services again in the future!

Cannot fault the service. Tyffani was at the front desk at both our check-in and check-out for an overnight stay, and she remembered us the next morning. She was pleasant and efficient.

The shuttle service to JFK first runs at 0500 and then runs hourly at :45 past the hour (0545, 0645, 0745 ...) until 11 p.m. It took 10 minutes to get to our terminal (a lighter-than-normal traffic day, though, because it was the first working day after Xmas). The driver was friendly and we left promptly at 0745.

The buffet breakfast (basic but fine: Special K / Frosted Flakes / bread / bagels / muffins / DIY waffles / juices from concentrate) was included in our price and started at 0630. If you wolf down your breakfast you can make the 0645 shuttle.

Booked this months in advance so got a very good rate. It is a bit shabby (but clean) and Rockaway Boulevard is a light-industrial area so not exactly atmospheric, but it was exactly as expected.

Easy to get to, but only if you don't mind NYC buses: Q6 or Q6 Limited from Sutphin Blvd/JFK subway station on the E/J/Z, free transfer from the subway if you use a Metrocard (rather than a single-ride card). To be sure that you get the Q6 in the right direction (JFK N. Boundary Ave), if you can see the Seven Days food shop across Sutphin Blvd from your stop, you're at the right place.

No bed bugs.

I booked a King sized, non-smoking, microwave and fridge. This is what I got: not so clean drapery, not so clean bed spread, there's a fridge - but microwave is not in the room as you would think. That microwave, that it says it comes with, is shared on the 1st floor with the entire building, and the continental breakfast doesn't start until 6:30 a.m. The shuttle that starts at 5 a.m.: one leaves per hour - on the hour. Not a great place if you need to take a 5 a.m. shuttle and you want to grab something before you get to the airport. $1 per sheet to print out your boarding pass.

I stayed only for 1 night,but from the shuttle driver to the front desk everyone was very friendly and helpfull. At check in i had a million questions and Yuri was so nice a answer all of them. kumar the driver help me and showed me how to use the bus.The room was small, but clean. I recommend this hotel and would come back.
