I have just returned from a stay in Queretaro. During our visit to Mexico, I had the pleasure of staying at the two top upscale hotels in Queretaro (Gran Hotel Queretaro and La Casa de La Marquesa). I found the Gran Hotel Queretaro to be beautiful, centrally located, and a good value. The entire property is smoke-free. Prior to our arrival in Queretaro, I contacted the hotel directly via e-mail and was able to book our accomodations very easily. The hotel arranged airport transportation, which was prompt and professional. The Gran Hotel Queretaro is an excellent choice.

In comparison to La Casa de La Marquesa:

Gran Hotel Queretaro:
-Better location...located directly on the Main Plaza; however, La Casa de La Marquesa is only one block off the main square.
-Larger, modern rooms (although the structure and common areas are historic). The exterior and common areas at La Casa de La Marquesa are more beautiful...stunning actually.
-Responds to e-mails promptly and professionally (La Casa de La Marquesa did not respond to the e-mail listed on their site and only responded via e-mail several days after I had faxed a request.)
-The staff were courteous; however, I found the staff at La Casa de La Marquesa to be more polished in person (customer service).

I enjoyed both hotels and do not feel that go will go wrong with either property.

I found Queretaro to be a complete surprise. The city/historic center was beautiful, vibrant, and very safe.

I stayed in an Executive Suite, but there were no windows that opened to the outside. Airconditioner would not cool the room below 86 degrees, No water pressure in the shower at all.

The hotel is finished very well and room was fitted very well. My partners were very happy with their rooms which had windows.

Location is nice, but traffic was impossible.

I have stay there twice, the first time was when they just opened the hotel, excelent stay, so clean, the best general manager who attend us personally, I dont remember her name but was so nice and young lady, we came back few months ago thinking it will be as pleasant as the very first time and it was terrible, employees treat us bad, I will never go back and I already told everyone of my friends to think twice before stay there. You have to be more careful with the people you hire.
