I enjoyed staying here once in 1995 and again in 2007. This is a budget hotel so if you do not like clean mid-priced Mexican budget hotels stop reading. The entrance and lobby are not anything special. In fact you have to be observant to find the entrance for the first time.Rooms are around 30 dollars a night for the best rooms. The rooms with French doors leading out to a wrought iron railed less than 1foot deep balconies are nice. There is a good breeze in some of the rooms where there are up to around 4 French doors you can open. You are in the middle of the action so do not expect peace and quiet here but you can watch the marvels of how traffic moves in Mexico and watch the world pass by outside. I give the hotel 4-5 from certain rooms stars for being in the center of the cities action. Light sleepers beware. I would only recommend the exterior rooms with French doors. Also in the center of hotel is a courtyard with a very simple garden I found pleasant. You get the TV remote at the desk and I think you leave a deposit for it that you get back upon checking out and returning the remote to the front desk. Also, there are stairs you must climb to get to rooms on second floor. The other rooms are not at all appealing to me due to lack of light.
TIP : In Mexico and in this hotel ask to see 2-3 rooms before checking in and paying and you will usually get a better room.
