“Third time...still lucky”

Out third visit to Queretaro and Quinta Zoe proved to us you can go back even more than once. A warm welcome from David and we were quickly settled into 'our' room, the Amapola. It is a big room, perfect for a longer stay. We felt right at home putting all our things in their usual place. Although it fronts right on the street, noise never seemed to be a problem, even on weekends.
We were lucky to have our son and his girlfriend join us for a week on this trip - their room was the Girasol, a room with great Mexican 'flavour', a big window opening onto the patio where the fountain bubbled away and the night lights created a romantic feel. Time spent on the terrace during the warm afternoons and at night to see the stars and moon and visits with David thrown in were great. Having Zoe arrive before we left made our whole visit even better. They have an incredible ability to make people feel at home.
Add this to Quinta Zoe's perfect location in El Centro, within walking distance of five plazas where excellent food and wonderful music abound, and you have a great spot to stay in Queretaro. The city's World Heritage Site designation is well-deserved as is its reputation for being the cleanest city in Mexico. It's within easy bus travel to other colonial cities on Mexico's central plateau.
Yes, a fourth visit is likely in a year or two...and it will be spent at Quinta Zoe!

“Wonderful Stay with Fantastic Hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 March 2011

This was our first trip to Mexico and really did not want to go to the usual "tourist" towns. We really enjoy historical and cultural vacations and finding out that Queretaro was a UNESCO World Heritage site helped to make the decision. Finding the Quinta Zoe was another wonderful find. From the first email to Zoe we felt confident that we had made the right decision. We stayed in the Domo room which was immaculate, beautifully decorated, quiet, with its own little terrace. Zoe and David were the perfect hosts, giving us all the information we needed regarding places to see, the best restaurants, and how to get around. We really had a wonderful time and would love to visit the beautiful town of Queretaro and the lovely Quinta Zoe again soon. Thanks again Zoe and David!

“Highly recommended - great value in a safe city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2011

Like most Mexican places, the outside appears quite basic, and the real show happens inside. Quinta Zoe is a perfect example - the plain outside door on the street leads into a calm shady outdoor patio and a series of beautiful rental rooms. We stayed for three nights in #3 (in the centre): large room (high-ceilings, fan, opening windows with screens) with very comfortable king bed and the best sheet/pillow linen we experienced in 3 weeks in Mexico. One firm pillow was replaced with a softer one when we asked for that. The bathroom was compact - but had a nightlight, lots of hot water, and big soft thirsty towels. The fan in the bathroom was noisy. A large blue plastic barrel-like container of purified water is available to guests at all times - so we could refill our little bottles whenever needed.
It's not a B&B, but comes with an offer for morning coffee or tea in the main kitchen - which also had a series of books, map and guides for the area. The host was great - very personable and welcoming. He easily answered all our questions and gave great advice about recommended restaurants, and highlights of the city. Queretaro is a very safe city with lots of industry - but travellers will want to stay here in the historic centre.
Quinta Zoe was rebuilt from the ground up not too long ago, so looks brand new, has modern wiring and plumbing, and is run by ex-pat Americans who understand the needs of international visitors. Some of the other guests had returned there for years and it's easy to understand why. The location is ideal with great access (on foot) to people-filled squares, all variety of dining and shopping. I'd definitely return here.

“great location-excellent host”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 March 2010

Found this little gem searching on Google earth, and couldn’t have been more pleased. we were looking for a small, (private English speaking close to the center) B&B and we came across Quinta Zoe. We called and spoke with David, an aero space engineer that had retired to Queretaro with his wife (Zoe) and remodeled their retirement home that became a B&B. Sounds like what i should do. If you want excellent hosts full of (tasty bits of information) and newly remodeled clean and quite rooms then this is the place. Not to mention it is close to all of the restaurants and shops. We had a very fun and romantic time in-part due to Quinta Zoe B&B. We will return.

“A true gem of a find in a great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 March 2010

It was my first visit to Mexico and I was concerned about selecting a good place to stay. I should not have been. I am so happy I chose Quita Zoe. It's a great find and a real value located in the heart of the old city and within walking distance to everything. Top quality linens, mattresses, plumbing, decor and service are provided in a beautifully restored inn that is hundreds of years old. It doesn't get much better than this.
Upon arrival I received a detailed guide prepared by the friendly owners covering many of the questions a newcomer may have as well as a welcome drink of my choice to get me relaxed. I felt right at home immediately.
Queretaro was such a joy to visit. Extremely clean and safe with music and good dining everywhere. Quinta Zoe is a beatiful, carefree place to start your Mexico experience.
