“A simple hotel near the center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011

We stayed a couple of nights in an executive room and one in a traditional room.
The executive room was more spacious and new. We had good light coming into the room and the room was clean.
The traditional rooms look very nice on the outside, like little houses and they are around the garden. Our traditional room was smaller and the facilities weren’t as new as the executive, but it also had a flat screen and overall was ok too.

The hotel is located in a busy street, but once you enter the hotel, the gardens and the layout of the hotel are nice. The pool is very small, we didn’t use it.

The restaurant (which is just outside the hotel) was familiar to me, we realized there’s a branch of the restaurant in our neighborhood back home. The food is good, tacos and other mexican “antojitos”.

The hotel is near the center but not walking distance.

“Very comfortable hotel, great restaurant”

We stayed two nights at the Flamingo Inn en route to our son's wedding in San Miguel de Allende. We stayed in LA overnight first after our trip from Australia. Our eldest son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren joined us for the second night. There is a great 3 bed room, perfect for them and they all had a great sleep after their trip from Ireland. The rooms are large, very comfortable with great bathrooms. The staff at the reception were very helpful and friendly and made sure the taxi drivers knew our destination as we went out.

The restaurant on the property "Parrilla Leonesa" was very good, staff were helpful, especially Francisco, who made suggestions on what we might like to try and replaced a meal that I found too spicy for my taste.

“Great Hotel.Beautiful City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2006

Great hotel, rooms are clean, spacious and the service in the hotel is great. We stayed at the hotel for Dia de Los Muertos and before we left they gave us a small ceramic present as it is a tradition in Queretaro. The restaurant next to the hotel is also very good, the food is tasty and the price is reasonable. Another good restaurant is El Meson de Chucho el Roto, the food is great and the service is outstanding.

“Good Family Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2006

This was the closest hotel to the center that had a pool. It was convenient to get in and out of with the car and had adequate, safe, off-street parking. The pool was small but perfect for the children after the car trip from Mexico City.

The rooms were basic, Mexican hotel rooms. We were a party of five (3 adults, 2 children). We had a suite which was really two bedrooms with only one tiny, tiny bathroom. If we go again with this size group, we will request two rooms or adjoining rooms instead of the "suite".

The restaurant on the property "Parrilla Leonesa" was good, if a bit pricey. There was live music the evening we were there and plenty of patrons were local.

Queretaro is a lovely city. We parked near the city center and walked throughout the main pedestrian-only streets. We really enjoyed Queretaro though it doesn't receive as much attention as Morelia and San Miguel de Allende. We preferred Queretaro!

  • Liked — Grounds and location
  • Disliked — Tiny bathroom
  • Tips/Secrets — If your room isn't ready, use the pool while you wait.
