“River location, great hosts, expert guide”

Three nights spent here at the end of October/beginning of November. This is an informal (though by no means basic) camp on the river with excellent game viewing opportunities. The food was varied, tasty and suited our needs well: lots of salad and vegetables at both brunch and dinner. How they do it is nothing short of miraculous - a triumph of experience and forward planning.
Tim and Emma were charming and enthusiastic hosts and Zebron was as knowledgeable a guide as we have ever had on safari. All staff were helpful and accommodating.
People really couldn't do enough for you: we were given a surprise champagne sundowner one evening in a spectacular setting which we very much appreciated.

Thank-you Kiki, Tigger and all the wonderful staff at Nkwali Camp. We stayed for 4 nights at the end of July at the begining of our 4th trip to Africa. We hadnt made it to Zambia before, but had heard it was a fabulous place to see the bush and all the wonderful wildlife Africa has to offer. We were not disappointed and hope to come back again as soon as the travel budget allows. The camp is a special place and we were so well looked after that we came home a couple of kilos heavier. All that home backed bread and lovely morning teas, not to mention the fabulous banana jam on toast for breakfast. Dont muck about , its just a great place to stay.

“Great Safari Camp”

It is hard to write something new about this wonderful camp. We spent 4 nights there, and had just a fabulous time. Chalets are more than comfortable, and I particularly loved the outdoor showers!!
The staff at Nkwali is first-rate, from the front office personnel (who helped us with transportation issues), to housekeeping, to guides, hosts (and hostess) etc., they are all extremely friendly, welcoming and experts at what they do. Zebron and Kiki can make anyone laugh, and Kanga our guide has an infectious smile. More than any other factor, they were responsible for our wonderful experience at Nkwali. They even surprised us with a bush breakfast on our last day, as well as a birthday cake for one of our son's.
This camp is in the bush, and animals are free to venture in and out. Elephants greeted us one morning on our way to breakfast, and evenings were spent listening to hippos munching outside our chalet.
Game viewing was very good, including sightings of indigenous giraffe. We were even treated to the sight of a lion climbing a tree to confront a leopard!
I highly recommend Nkwali for anyone interested in a remote camp which provides first-class service.

“A Great 3 nights at Nkwali”

Having just landed at Mfuwe airport, it was very nice to be straight away taken into the park for some wildlife spotting, and a drinks at sunset. This set the tone for a great stay at Nkwali camp. We were taken care of very well by the staff who were very welcoming and flexible about how we spent our two full days, but also honest about the best times to see wildlife. On the second day we asked to do a bush walk, for which they found a scout, and were able to accomodate us. Overall the wildlife spotting was amazing. The food was also top notch.

“Wonderful wildlife at South Luangwa”

What a fantastic place to stay! Whereas it may not be at the plush end of the scale, Nkwali Camp belonging to Robin Pope Safaris is extremely comfortable, with wonderful food - and some of the best safari guides I've ever met!! Our guide, Kanga, was wonderful - eagle-eyed with an encyclopedic knowledge of birds (we saw 127 different kinds!), and delightful company.

We were there for their speciality Wild Dog Week - and unfortunately the dogs didn't deign to put in an appearance!! However, the specialists - Matt and Egil - were extremely knowledgable, and lovely guys to boot! The rest of the wildlife made up for the dogs non-appearance, though!

We would definitely like to go back to Nkwali, and was so impressed with Robin Pope Safaris we will definitely use them again!
