I loved this place so much - I just wished we had stayed longer !
Very private accommodation with fabulous view - very comfy beds , lovely verandah and chilled water and tea/coffee making stuff, hairdryer etc..Only slight drawback was the shower which was the worst shower I came across on my holiday - OK if you want to wash your hair every time you take a shower - hopeless if not. Very slow drain too.
Excellent food - best I had and as a vegetarian I don't usually get very good food on holiday but this place was great.

Mowani Mountain Camp is a very special place place to stay. The lodge is tucked away amongst huge boulders and the luxury tented rooms have amazing views across the Abu-Hual valley. The tents are very, very private and are beautifully appointed. They are cooled by the breeze which blows through the mountains. There is a floor mounted fan should you need it which we didn't. In room tea and coffee, flask chilled water and a room safe are provided. We received an excellent welcome upon arrival with cool towels and a refreshing fruit cocktail to refresh us at the end of a long road journey. Breakfast and dinner were very good and staff make every effort to make your stay an enjoyable one. Refurbishent of the tents is due - the state of the front flap of our tent - the zip was coming apart and rather than being sewn back was stapled into place. But the location is amazing.

We really enjoyed our 2-day stay at Mowani Mountain Camp. This was helped by a free upgrade to the honeymoon suite. That did have the unexpected disadvantage, however, that we had several sets of visitors during our stay, wishing to take photos of our view (On one occasion, we even found one couple leaving our lounge when we returned from a walk).
The lodge will not guarantee that you will see desert adapted elephant on their morning game drives, but our impression was that most people do. We certainly did, and it was a very special experience.
Evening meals were good quality, but not as hot as they should be. We enjoyed the friendly service.

For years, Mowani was my favourite lodge in Namibia. The setting is magical and initial stays in one of the suites contributed to a truly impressive experience. The lodge has gone through a number of recent changes in management and an extensive - and necessary - update is planned for the coming year (plans were presented to us by the latest manager, Bradley Brown). Staff seemed less attentive than in the past and a few incidents (mis-understandings, perhaps) with one of the guides caused us to miss a game drive included in our voucher. Manager Bradley intervened to more than make up for the loss, even arranging a special drive for us when we reached The Fort at Onguma Plains. Although my initial reaction was to look for another lodge in the area for subsequent visits, Bradley's "save" and the breathtaking scenery will keep this lodge on my can't miss list in years to come.
