We just returned from a stay at the Bellhouse this is our 2nd stay we came once in the winter to cross country ski. The Bellhouse is close to everything in the Bershires but you do need a car to get around. I loved my stay at the Bellhouse, this is a beautiful house/mansion with wrap around porch and many antiques and art objects, including some large old dollhouses that were at the top of the staircase. This past weekend we stayed in the front room in a large queen (or was it king) sized bed! The bed was an antique and had original quills and artwork on the walls. I loved our bathroom it was large with beautiful black and grey tiles and wallpaper. Our shower was a unique shower that had special features that sprayed the water from two sides, I'm not sure what you call it, but it was a relaxing and luxerious treat. After reading the one negative review I'd have to say that person must not like staying in historical inns because this place is beautiful and the owner made us feel at home. As for the rest of the place we hung out on the wrap around porch, watching birds feed their babies, swam and sunbathed at the large private pool (this is another reason why I come here none of the other B&B's have pools). The place was not only beautiful but clean, I made a point of looking at other rooom and all the bathrooms and rooms were all furnished with beautiful antiques and were clean. Now for the breakfast, the owner is a fabulous chef and cooks all the cakes and breakfasts! One morning we had peaches and cream french toast and another morning we had eggs benedict. All breakfasts were served with fresh fruit cups and freshly baked coffecakes. There were embroidered napkins and table linens, real silver cutlery and fresh flowers it was just such a beautiful setting, one of the other guests were photographing the table!
I would definitely reccommend this bed and breakfast, if you like a country place with all the amenities this is the place to stay.
