“Quiet spacious and warm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 May 2009

My boyfriend (at the time-he is now my husband) had just flown from WA to NY. He had made reservations at this hotel and we checked-in easily enough. He booked it for a week (he also rebooked it for the following week as we were searching for an aparmtent in the area). The room was surprisingly large. It had a comfortable couch and bed. It also had a fridge and a sink ...I think it had a microwave but I can't be sure about that. It was a lovely stay. Quiet and nice. Not an extravegant place but it was a good price for a good place in my opinion.

“Quiet suites. Loved atmosphere too.”

These suites are wonderful. My wife and I stayed here with our daughter to visit relatives. Stayed 1 and a half weeks and didn't feel like we were in a motel at all. We usually stay at "name brand" hotels, but there are none in Herkimer, so we made reservations here. So glad we did. We had a king size bed and a TV with DVD player in the bedroom. She slept in the living room (Embassy Suites style) and also had her own TV with DVD player. She slept well on the pull-out couch. I understand they also have smaller suites, but we wanted her to have privacy at night in her own room. We also sat comfortably at the dining table, as a few times we ate take-out from local fast food restaurants at night. Not to mention my daughter had her own bathroom by the living room and we had our own bathroom in the bedroom. I will definitely recommend these hotel suites to anyone who will visit in Herkimer. Very comfortable and quiet. Hallways are always kept clean and well lit. I don't know what the previous poster was talking about. I guess you have to get past the offices to reach the suites section and he stopped short and left. Fortunately we didn't read his post until now. We would have missed out on a very comfortable stay. Sorry that he missed out. Just loved it. Very pleasant and quiet even though there were people in the next suite.

  • Liked — Spacious suites. Quiet atmosphere. Did not feel like ordinary motel room.
  • Disliked — We loved everything.

“a room in an office building?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2007

I have been recently traveling to this area to service a new account for my company. I did not make reservations in advance, and found the "nice motel" in Herkimer (Herkimer Motel) had no rooms available. They suggested this place, after calling a few spots in Utica to find they were full. I should have known that if they have a machine answering..its not a "nightly stay place"..but
I drove over to find an old hotel that had been converted to an strange kind of office building. I wandered the gloomy halls looking for staff. A nice lady from one of the offices told me that it is really more long term apts...I left, went back to the original motel to see if they could give me other ideas..I was in luck..they had a reserv.ation cancel so I did get a room (Pretty nice)...I never did get into a room here, but it was weirdly layed out and the halls were pretty depressing.

It sounds like this reviewer only walked around by the professional offices section at a time when most of them had already closed, which of course makes it look dimmer than when they are open with all their lights on. As with most mixed-use buildings, the commercial offices are toward the front entrance of the building, and the hotel suites are in a private wing to ensure guests are not bothered by local people coming to the commercial area of the property. We have a computerized switchboard system with an auto-attendant and you have to press the prompt for the rental office to speak to a person. It's also too bad he didn't see the motel suites section, which is in a separate and private wing of this multi-use complex for the specific reason that people like their quiet privacy. I can't understand how TripAdvisor can have people write reviews of a property in which they never actually stayed. I'm sure this person would have enjoyed our corporate suites.

“Loved our suite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2007

This hotel has pretty nice apartment-style suites, although there is no stove, we had a micorwave, refirgerator, and sink. But we weren't there to cook or make meals anyway so we didn't mind. There was ample space for all our things and plenty of room to feel comfortable for the two weeks we were there. We brought our family to see our suite and they just adored it. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. Even though the parking lot was full it was very quiet in the suite. Just what we like. Very satisfied.

  • Liked — Quiet suite. No disruptions.
  • Disliked — I had a wonderful experience and can't think of anything negative

“Hidden gem. Felt like home.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2006

After trying 2 other motels in the area we finally found this hidden gem. We stayed here for 11 days and it felt like we were in our own mini-condominium. This is NOT a roadside motel. You actually park in a general parking lot and then walk inside interior hallways to your room. We had our own studio suite. The room was large and the property was quiet and clean. Although there were other guests around we never heard them once we were in our room. My only regret during the entire trip was not finding this place sooner. We definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet place to rest after they are out and about all day. We even spent a day or two in our studio suite just lounging and watching TV. That's how much we felt at home there. We will definitely come back this summer when we visit our family again.
