Traveled up the Hudson from Long Island by boat and this was a great location to stop for the night. The Bricktown Inn exceeded all expectations. Michelle and Joe are wonderful hosts and the energy they put into their business is obvious at every turn. Super clean, great breakfast, beautifully decorated with every detail addressed. One reviewer complained terribly about the trains. Although you occasionally hear a train going by it was not loud at all. Quite soothing actually. We will return whenever we are in the area.

The Bricktown Inn is a lovely B & B. It is clean, the furnishings are sumptuous, and the rooms are beautiful. However, there is a problem. The inn is less than one block from one of the busiest freight rail corridors in the Northeast. We went to bed on a Saturday evening at about 10:30 pm. An hour later, we heard a train's whistle in the distance that came closer and closer until it pierced the room and the house shook for more than one minute as the train passed by. The performance was repeated at 1:30 am and 3:30 am, after which we left.

I cannot fathom why the indisputable proximity of the train tracks was not even mentioned by any of the reviews I read before we went.

For those who like the Bed and Breakfast Inn, this is the best of the best. Accommodation were superior and the breakfast was outstanding. We believe this to be the one to stay at, when in the region.

Michelle and Joe welcomed us into their home as if we were old friends. The inn is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Our room was very comfortable with special touches like reading materials, ear plugs and local guide books. We especially liked that breakfast was served from 7 - 9 instead of on a set schedule. We didn't even have to commit to a time the night before! And the food was delicious--fresh fruit, hot coffee, homemade banana bread and cooked to order omelets. Hope that we have the chance to stay there again.
