“Amazing hotel!”

This hotel is very nice. It's in a good location in that it's about 30 seconds off of the LI expressway. I received a good deal on price through Hotwire and I was very pleased on arriving! The lobby is very nice with complimentary computers. The hot tub and pool area were nice and clean. The fitness center was my favorite, very clean and very high tech equipment. I found myself wishing I could stay another night!

“Clean and quite”

As noted undergoing renovations. Room was quite, clean and mostly updated with the exception of the carpet and bathroom fixtures. Otherwise a great hotel as I used online bid site and got a great rate for the star level and comfort/cleanliness of the hotel. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Front of hotel away from large vent fan in back of hotel.

“Seemed like a Homeless Shelter”

Rooms were stained and well used, but livable, but we booked this room mid winter for some alone time and to go for a swim. The rooms around the pool area and the people who hung around the pool area seemed to be tenants and not guest. They were rude and discussing is the way to put it, there were dogs running around the pool area, two woman decided to set up an area where they could give each other haircuts. Yes haircuts. Poolside. we were so happy when we saw some hotel employees enter the area hoping they were going to yell at them and all they did was ask them to move over a little because they were setting up for a party. we went to the front desk to complain and they did nothing. We asked if these people were tenants and got no response. There was a sign by the Jacuzzi that said you must be 16 years of age to enter, but nobody chased the children out either. So if you like a hotel with no rules this may be the place for you. If you dont like paying allot of money to stay in worse conditions then your used to then stay away. I might also add that we both woke up having top run to the drug store for allergy medicines. Dogs are allowed at this hotel.

I don't blame Sheraton Hotels for this, I blame the management of this hotel.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your feedback that you posted here on Trip Advisor. We at the Sheraton Long Island strive to provide our guests with a superior experience through our product and services. Insight such as yours will only aid us in attaining our goals and for this I thank you.
First please let me apologize for the our staff not being attentitive to your needs while visiting with us. I have personally investigated your claim that some of our employees witnessed guests of our hotel cutting their hair by the pool as well as children being under the age of 16 in our whirlpool and have discussed these issues with said employees. I would also like to apologize for the condition of the room that you stayed in. We are currently in the process of renovating our rooms and are only about 60% finished. I would like you to know that we are working diligently to improve the quality of our hotel and to maintain the high standards that our guests have come to enjoy.
Through each comment we receive, both positive and negative, we are able to seek knowledge and growth to better serve our guests. Again, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, it is truly appreciated and I will be sure to share it with my colleagues. I apologize once again that your stay was not as enjoyable as anticipated, but hope you do provide us another chance to be of service when here on Long Island.

The sheraton has been one of the best hotels on long island for a long time. The front floor and the lobby has been updated and is very attractive. The rooms, hallsways, etc need a upgrade. Carpets, walls and bathrooms need to be up graded. Cleaniness is not a problem but all else is shop worn.

“doing renovations,”

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times. the front desk are awesome, and are always willing to please.. I had my car window smashed in and robbed one time because i had the garmin on the windshield ( i know how dumb). at the time the hotel had no cameras in the parking lot in the back, they told me they now do. however i don't want another bad experience as i had before, so i made sure my car was totally cleaned out of everything. the bellman was awesome. new carpet in the hallways, and they are starting to re do the rooms, i had an old room which was still very nice. comfy, and had the same room service guy that i had many years ago, so happy employees, happy customers in my opinion.

Room Tip: ask for a free upgrade, a couple of times i have had a two story room with a spiral staircase.
