Everything was excellent, warm, friendly and extremely comfortable and clean. Great hosts very helpful and caring. Breakfast was made to order served in guest kitchen, bathroom in our suite ... we will do it again, the location is fantastic. Oh, the grape pie was outstanding ...

We planned our stay around a month and a half ahead of time. We had a party of 9, and just about no one was able to accommodate. We found Fine Thread on the Hammondsport Chamber of Commerce. Obviously, this place is not advertised very well. However, when we contacted the owner he was more than helpful, worked with us to accommodate our entire party. It is not a Victorian B&B, but it more than fulfilled all of our needs. Mr. Barone and his family were very nice, and breakfast was just like mom made. Very cozy, home feeling. The owner, Mark, was very friendly and offered both winery, wine selection, and restaurant suggestions. Everything he said was spot on. The best part about this place is the location. Walking distance to town square and the lake (about a block and block and a half respectively). If you are looking for a traditional B&B this may not be for you, but I would recommend this place to anyone that is coming with a group, or if you are looking for a great location. Can't say enough about our stay. We were greeted by cookies when we arrived late night, which was a really nice touch.

Should have known there might be an issue when I was able to get a one night reservation on a July weekend. This is not a B and B - more like a couple of spare rooms in a small house in a dicey neighborhood. The rooms were tiny, and "spartan" does not do them justice. Nothing but an overhead light in each room. No nightstands, no mirrors, no clock, nothing on the wall, no dressers, no tv, TINY bathroom with a tub shower from the Bates motel. Avoid unless there are no other options.
