Just got back from the Sound View Inn Family reunion (fifteen years and counting). As usual, we took five rooms and enjoyed the back deck, the beach and our annual surf casting tournament on Saturday (plenty of fish). Our rooms were, big, clean and cozy. Everything in the kitchen area was working, The Ladies were cooken up a storm. The sunsets are spectacular over the Sound. If you go to the resturant, order "The Duck", it's excellent.

Were at Soundview Inn three times (so far) since Spring. We stay at the Adults-Only apartments -- interior decor is lovely, and the deck that runs the width of the apartment is FANTASTIC. The staff is friendly, very professional and responsive to any requests. Most especially want to thank Betty and Ellen .... you guys are wonderful ... you solved the few problems we had almost before we finished telling you about them. Location is perfect -- watching the sound and hearing the surf ... being close to town -- couldn't ask for more. The restaurant is delicious!

We stayed at the Sound View for a friend's wedding. We could only stay one night and finding a place without a 2-night minimum is hard to come by. The Sound View accommodated.

That and the idea of the view is what sold us.

The view is terrific and the location is convenient to area villages. The sound of the ocean is nice but you are also right up at the highway so you will have the sound of cars as well.

The breakfast is not worth it, especially with great places to eat nearby.

The price was steep, even in off season for a motel. The incomparable view doesn't justify such a high price though other area hotels were even more pricey.

The bed was fine and the room was clean. A basic, well-run motel with a great view.

There are many great options in this area, especially of the Bed & Breakfast variety. Sound View is an adequate option but I'd check out other ones as well.

My husband and I stayed here early Oct. of this year to celebrate our 1 year anniversary.
This inn is more motel than inn. You drive straight from the road to your room. The rooms are adequate, and clean with a refrigerator and a table and chairs. They could use some renovations, but I thought it's rustic feel added to its charm. Besides, what you are there for is the view. From the moment you walk in your door all you see is through the windows is the sparkling water of The Long Island Sound. The room opens to a shared deck with stairs to the beach, and lounge chairs to enjoy the spectacular sunsets. One slight negative is that the cars speeding past down Sound View Ave do sound like they are right outside your bedroom, but we quickly remedied this by opening a window on the side of the room by the beach and were lulled to sleep by the noises of The Sound.
The Inn also has a nice bar and restaurant with an equally stunning view.
The Staff was very helpful finding us utensils to eat our wedding cake with and we are both looking forward to many anniversaries spent at Sound View Inn.
