“No problems”

This place usually gets a bum rap on T.A....I've stayed here three times now and never had a problem. It ain't the Four Seasons, of course, but it was never bad, and now that it's renovated I felt that the room was as nice as any Comfort Inn, Days Inn or place of that ilk. The bathroom impressed me - all new, with granite countertops, granite shower and great wallpaper - it reminded me of a cheaper version of the brown/black/neutral Asian minimal Hotel Se in San Diego which is a place that actually goes big for decor...yes, folks, an EconoLodge reminded me of that. It was clean, quiet, and the breakfast was very limited but fresh. They also have more professional people at the desk now rather than the owner's kid. The one big drawback with the property is that it's in a semi-industrial area so it isn't scenic (truck trailers around, etc.) and they seem to be doing heavy work outside, so all sorts of junk is piled up behind the place...but hey, for a quick, quiet, clean stop right off I-87 for under $50.00 a night with standard big plasma tv, free wifi, fresh bagels and cream cheese, and pet privileges, you can't beat it.

“bait and switch”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2009

This motel advertises in the freeway fliers. But when we showed up, they gave us some bs excuse why they couldn't honor the $50 advertised price even though it was 11 p.m. They wanted $85. The owners seem to be living behind the office. Unkempt teenage son came to front desk. Noticed peeling paint on hotel room doors. Located in front of trucking facility. We left.

I would go to the Comfort Innup the road. But stay away from the Regency.

We have stayed at this place a couple of times as it is near relatives...it isn't elegant but I never found it to be dirty or noisy.

“TRUST ME... Stay somewhere else”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2009

I too read the reviews on this motel and booked a room for 3 days. BIG mistake. The doors were all dented, chipped and rundown. Seemed unsafe.

Went into the room to give it a chance and found semen stains on the blankets! Suffice to say, that was plenty of reason to turn around and walk straight out of the door.

The office stunk of Indian food, which was very unpleasant. Manager offered me another room, however after seeing what I saw I demanded a refund. Went to the Days Inn in Albany for slightly more and it was well worth it.

The owner of this property should be ashamed. That kind of substances on the bed is not only disgusting, but unhealthy for visitors (obviously). There are several hotels in the area at the same rate that are 20x better.

TRUST ME... Stay somewhere else!

  • Liked — Nothing
  • Disliked — Room Cleanliness - In all fairness the manager did give me a refund, which is a small plus to my experience I suppose.

“Do Not Stay Here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2009

Before coming here, I read the reviews and thought this place would be alright. The place is a dump and had dirty sheets and towels. The power was out for almost 4 hours when the temps were in the low teens. When asked for a refund the next day or at least a huge discount I was offered 10%.

The rooms have NOT been recently renovated and would not recommend staying here unless you want to be disappointed. The current owners are obviously running their business on a shoe string budget and can not afford to keep this place up.

Go to the Comfort Inn down the street for another $30 per night. We would have done this had we gotten in earlier and not been totally beat from driving all day.
