“Great hotel in the paradise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2007

Hotel is just a stonethrow away from the ocean waters of north La Digue - a great chilled island. You live in hotel rooms which are all separate in bungalows "glued" on the coast rocks. Great views from the private balcony.

Breakfast was great, lunch we had in a pizzeria in the village and for dinner we recomend the nearby Patatran restaurant (different hotel!)

Rooms clean with aircon. Special requests were fulfilled by hotel staff.

No complaints whatsoever apart the quality of the bicycles (you need a rental bike in La Digue). But all rental bikes on the Island appeared to be somehow simple, on the other hand, they dont need to get locked :-) . Take a flashlight with you in case you get stranded in the village in the evening. No streetlights and no bicycle lights.

But the Island, its beaches and the mood on the Island are just gorgeous! Paradise is best to describe it.

“Lovely island”

My wife and I stayed here for three nights as part of our first trip to The Seychelles. We had a superior room, which was a decent size, and had a fabulous view of the Indian Ocean. The room was in need of refursbishing, although the bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well. Although the room had tea and coffee making facilities, there was no milk and this didn't seem to be available either. Breakfast was a buffet selection, although there wasn't as much choice of fresh fruit as we had hoped for. We hired bicyles from the hotel one day for a tour of the island. This is highly recommended and was good value. The beach near the hotel is very small and does tend to disappear completely during high tide, but another much larger, although fairly empty beach was only a few minutes walk away and it remained even during high tide.

“A very positive surprise”

My wife and I stayed at Patatran Village from March 11th to 15th. Patatran Village has an entirely new central building (dating from October 2006) with the usual facilities and an open dining room close to the ocean. We were there on half board. The rooms for the guests are individual buildings on the slope close to the central building. We had a very spacious suite with good equipment (ideal for newly married couples but well appreciated also by couples with a long marriage history as is our case). Food is perfectly OK. The staff is friendly. The hotel lets bikes at 8 Euro/day; they are not too well maintained, though. There is a small beach close to the hotel; using your bike you might find better ones -- this is one of the advantages of this small island.
Internet facilities are bad -- but this holds for La Digue in general.

“Stunning landscape & kind people”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 February 2007

We have been 3 nights in la Digue, which is the most lovely island of Seychelles. Anse Lazio, Source d'Argent, Anse Severe are very special beaches, and the whole atmosphere of the island, without cars and full of bicycles, is someway young and precious. It takes 30 minutes to ride from Patatran to Anse Lazio, passing through the whole island, green woods and nice cottages. We choose Patatran for the view, which is quite superb from superior rooms. The nearest usable beach is Anse Severe, but the hotel has a pool and solarium in the main building. The new main building has just been built in 2006, full of wood and a wide restaurant-bar at the very end of the promontory. The staff is very kind, when we arrived a girl came with fresh wet scented towels and offered a welcome cocktail. The restaurant was good, they have a set menu for half board and a la carte menu. The first day we rent 2 bycicles, but after a while one broke! The boy came quickly with the truck and another bike. The last day we left the room in the morning, went to the beach, and when we came back in the afternoon they gave us again a room, no charge, to have a shower before going to the ferry.
There was not so much to do in the evening, the place is 1.5 km far from La Passe and the street is not lighted; anyway there is not so much life in La Passe either. In high season they organize live music in the evening, but generally speaking, this is a very nice place for relax.

“incredible views on a wonderful island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 June 2006

We stayed four nights in May, 2006 and really enjoyed the island and the hotel.

The view of the rocks, beach. and other islands from our room and balcony was drop dead gorgeous. Travel agents visiting the island stopped in front of our little house to take pictures.

The beach across the road (not much traffic....most people use bicycles)...did disappear in high tide and during low tide, it was pretty impossile to swim out. A five minute bike ride to a beach (anse severe) that never disappears (and where we snorkeled with five turtles one afternoon) addresses that problem.

Breakfast buffet (included in the room price) was spectacular with cold cuts, eggs and bacon any way you'd like, crepes, fresh fruit, many more breakfast breads, cereal, etc. Water in the fridge is expensive, but you can buy your own down at a shop at the edge of the town....a seven minute bike ride.

If you're any kind of a bike rider, rent a bike to visit the residential areas, the beaches away from the town, etc. It is hot biking...but it's a magical island.

We were disappointed that our air conditioner did not get cool the room enough during the day...and this was brought to the attention of the hotel several times with no improvement. It was comfortable sleeping at night.

Our experience with the front desk was different from other reviewers....one staff member was one of the most pleasant and joyful I've seen and another was polite, and both were very effecient.

The hotel is adding a restaurant, pool, etc. Hope they don't change too much....other than the airconditioners.....we want to go back.
