After reading all of the reviews here, I was actually worried about the area surrounding the inn. So I'd like to address that first. I do not think it is a particularly economically depressed area. It's important to understand that you're going to the mountains in a very rural area. You need a car and it's the country. It's not poor and it's certainly not lacking in things to do in any season.
Now to the inn. We really had a great stay there. We stayed in the Tack Room and found it to be very large and comfortable. The room was decorated with antiques and pieces of the original carriage house. Overall it was charming. Also, the hot made to order breakfasts offered every morning were great. And the innkeepers were friendly and very helpful. If we asked for advice on where to go, they had great suggestions and they also checked in to make sure we were enjoying where we went so they could keep their recommendations up to date. :)
Our stay was not without a few bumps, but the owners and staff at the inn handled everything with grace. Very good customer service which left us with an excellent memory despite the small imperfections. And whenever we asked for help, someone was always more than willing to oblige. They truly know how to treat a guest and get repeat business. I know we would go back, no questions asked.
